What Did You Do To Your Avant Today?

I used Meguiars SwirlX swirl remover. Gave it a ton of elbow grease applying it on, then used the same amount of elbow grease buffing it off. I was very satisfied with it. Put it under the bright lights in my garage, and it still looked good. Next time I wash her, I'll probably do it again - make sure it's 100%.

Today, well, really on Saturday I replaced my valve cover gasket (looks like no new oil leak so far), replaced my N80 valve (I hate the hose clips Audi uses) and carried out an oil change.

Dont kid yourself, if its your first time, like it was for me you need a day. Helps if you dont round out one of the 6mm interior allan heads that hold hold the rails on and have to go buy a craftsman bolt out kit.

What are you doing with your black rails, are they off a B7? Did you have to drop the entire headliner or could it be done without taking the entire thing out?

They are from a B5 and people say you don't have to drop the entire headliner, just all the pillars (which requires removing all trim in the cargo area to get the D pillar out) handles and remove the liner from the trim above the doors. from there its three of the 6mm interior alan bolts per side of the car

Today - I drove it to work.
Yesterday, I drove it for 3 hours to another office (driving the Avant was definitely the highlight of the day)
The day before, I fixed my right rear tail light. I got the double-time blink, so I pulled off my right rear light housing. Turns out the light bulb didn't *burn* out, it *fell* out. HTF does that happen? It was just rolling around in there. I put it back in and it seems to fit tight enough. weird!

I'll admit it's not bad, as far as size goes. It's WAY underpowerd, as it only has the V6...way too heavy for that. It is a rental, though.

I just replaced my valve cover gasket last weekend, easy enough job (at least on a B7) although I lost a piece of the old gasket down in the engine somewhere. The thing was incredibly brittle, and fell apart as I was taking it off. I think it fixed my leak though.

I also have an ECS magnetic drain plug, always amuses me how much metal filings are attached to the end of it at oil change time.

This weekend I plan to either check my cam follower or fit my RS4 rear sway bar.

it's not an avant, but I wanted to show you guys since I don't know anyone else here

This is my friend's b5 s4, he's an AZer but I dont know his handle. We wanted to do a simple mod so we wrapped his cross bar in digital camo. We loved how it came out--it's a bit hard to see in the picture ((maybe because it's camo??)) We ended up redoing the first bar we wrapped after using a better strategy the second time around. I can't imagine how hard it'd be to do the roof rails like 2006sline.

Not today, but on Saturday fitted my RS4 sway bar, makes a nice difference in handling even on the stock suspension. Looking forward to the day I can afford some coils.
