I've made several attempts to enable the ambient interior lighting on my 2014 S5 coupe (MMI 3G plus) without success. I've tried the following:

From the green (hidden) MMI menu:
Go to car -> carmenuoperation -> interior lights -> set to 5.
return to car then go to cardevicelist and made sure interior lights is highlighted
reset MMI

After the MMI resets this change does make the "interior lights" option appear on the "Car" MMI menu but it is greyed out and when I click on it I get a message that this feature is not available.

I also tried adding the following step to those above in the green (hidden) MMI menu:
go to carbusassignment and change "interior light" from unspecified (9/9) to CAN Komfort (1/9)
(I also tried changing this to the 5/9 setting)
Reset MMI and I still cannot access the "interior lights" option on the "Car" MMI menu.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you try accessing that option with the car in a different mode? Like fully engine turned on? Or in accessory mode? Or battery on engine off mode?

I've noticed certain MMI options are sensitive to the state the car is in. Honestly now that I'm thinking about it the engine probably has to be on for that one

That coding did it! Thank you Rene! My interior ambient lighting is now enabled and works perfectly.
Also the engine must be running to access this menu option (and any of the other "Car Systems" menu options).

Hi all, i'm trying to search for the code to disable "Engine Shut Down" When the Driver side door is open.

Example:
1. When you stop you car, put your gear to "P"
2. Open the Driver Side Door
3. Engine will shut down.

Is there any code that I can disable the engine shut down? been searching for this code, however can't get any.

Every time you open the door the engine shuts off? Talk about a huge PITA what car is this on?

Yes Sir, everytime when i stop the car, and open the driver door, the engine will stop. However got sometime it don't shut down. I yet to get the logic. B8.5 model

Check this thread out. Does your car have the auto stop/start feature like if you are in traffic?

There is a code in that thread you can try. Few people said it worked.

I did everything correctly and even turned up the brightness but I can't get mine to work :(

Not working - what of it doesn’t work ??

- do you get the MMI menu item, and if you do, can you then select a new value on the dial ??
- do test it with doors closed ??
- etc.

I unlock the hidden menu, turn it on to active through VCDS, Turn the brightness up on the MMI, turn in my head lights, and the footwells aren’t on.

Yeah. I tested it while I was driving too, no go.

I have no idea what’s wrong. When I first did the coding, I didn’t activate the byte so it was grey in the MMI screen. After I activated it, it allows me to adjust the brightness so I did full brightness.

It won’t work for some odd reason. But as soon as I open the door, the footwells come on like normal.

Some time ago (maybe 1 year) I've installed e-codes and had the code removed by a shop. Worked well.
Now I've recently purchased a ross-tech cable and started playing around with VCDS modifying some of the elements from page 1 to my likings. Even tho the settings for disable amber lights are OFF, I still get the code now. I've done a auto-scan export but I'm not sure if it's safe to post it here?

Any idea if something else than this code is necessary to remove codes comming from installing e-codes??

Got the ambient lighting to work.

Anyone know any codes for the high beams, mine won’t stay activated now for some odd reason. I have to push/pull and hold the stick in the position to keep it on.

I just reversed all the codes and re-activated them. That did it for me.

You need a B9 so you get the Stop’n’Go cruise control - OEM on the B8 the minimum speed is 30 kmh, and this can’t AFAIK not be changed.
