Depends on a lot of things like your age, marital status, accident/ticket record, where you live, etc.

I have Allstate and when I upraded to my '05 S4 from the '02 A4, my insurance went up from 875/6mo. to 1015/6mo. I'm an 18 y/o student with a clean record

just get a quote, does not hurt. 11 s5 was only slightly more expensive, worked out to like $25 a month i think, than an 08 g37s, 09 mdx.

The cost for your liability insurance on the a5 should be comparable to the a3. The cost of collision and comprehensive insurance should track with the values of the cars - so figure maybe a 30% premium for the a5 over the a3 (depending on option levels).

I went from a 00 S4 to a 2010 S5, and there was negligeable change, maybe $10/mth. My insurance guy explained it like this: it's not the cost of the car that they are primarily worried about, it's the cost of the work and parts involved in repairs. New factory parts for an older Audi are just as expensive as parts for a new one...

I just bought an S5 today. My premium for 6 months is over $50 LESS than for my 2008.5 Mazdaspeed3. Crazy.

    if you are wondering why:

safety rating in Audi > safety rating in Mazda

residual value in Audi > residual value in Mazda
