This car is desperately in need of this feature, how can I go about installing something that is compatible with a 2004 A8L with 6-disc changer etc? Thanks in advance.

you dont give much to go on, but you have a few options,

    1) your CD Changer probably doesnt have the capicty to play MP3's but you could change it for one that does
    2) Install the AMI module - lets you connect an IPOD or hard disk and use the mmi screen and controls
    3) Installl Dension gateway, I havent got one of these but i think its similar to number 2
    4) Several other devices which are similar to AMI
    5) Use the AUX 1 or 2 socket from the TV Tuner if you have it (problem is its in the boot so hard to control the music

I went for the AMI module, easy to fit in 10-15 minutes

This is the first I've heard of the AMI module
I will definitely look into this as an option, or maybe the ONLY option.

Just found info on something similar to it that works for 04 A8's
