That's Phil for sure. But I believe he dropped that project to sell. The video was back from '09.

Yep, they are mine, and still runing strong. The aftermarket availability made me stop since the components I use are really expensive but hey, I still rock them and love them

Yes... but who is willing to spend $600+ for them, if you can get cheaper alternatives... Smart business decision. I'm sure if you asked nicely, he might make them to order.

I ran all the numbers, tryied to find cheaper component supplier but unfortunately was not able to come up with something cheaper:
Couple numbers:
LED = $3 piece - 160 needed
Programable chip = $85 piece - 2 needed
And as you will see on the pic, many more components are required

Either way, the LED tails ECS sells is not even close to the same setup as Phil's. His are definitely one of a kind... this is definitely a "get what you pay for" kind of deal. Wish I could dish it out, that's for sure.

this is a very unfortunate thread to read. I was actually saving my money to soon contact phil to have these made :( FML

I'm all about quality products even if they are expensive. All i can say is, i have wasted money on trying to get away with cheaper stuff, and it always sucks ass. Might as well save for the good parts the first time around.


Phil - you should still do these on request! i'm sure there are quite a few people that have the same philosophy as me when it comes to quality parts vs. cheap knockoffs.

I ended up getting Dectanes from Germany (made somewhere in South East Asia though).

I'm happy with them.

With just the side parking light on


I forgot to take pictures of the fog light but they're there (both sides, centre inside lights).
Also, the turn signals are orange instead of red which I personally prefer but it's not for everyone.

My set is running great as well. To be honest, I don't see any problem in the long term looking at the type & quality of LED I installed and I only run them at 30% of their max capacity
