I've never put a lot of research into Bilstein's before, so forgive my noob question. Am I seeing this right: the adjustment for dampening is at the bottom of the shock such that you can adjust them easily - at worst, it looks like you would have to jack the car up and take off the wheel. Given the effort I had to go through to adjust my old KW's, this is a big selling feature (at least for me).

    How's the ride?

(sorry for the derail - if you prefer to respond by PM, that's cool).

By the way, the car looks incredible. The LM-R's are money, and the CX-R's look way better than I thought they would. Nice job.

you are correct on the adjustment, the rear are a bit harder to get to but located at the bottom. I love the LM-R's but seems many prefer the CX-R's.

Thanks. Whatever maneuvering you need to do to get under the rear is way easier than disassembling to get to the top of the shock!

With the V3's you can drill a small hole at the top of the wheel well to make the adjustment. Not a big deal.

Front should be ok for drilling but how about the rear?
Looks to me I need to take out the trunk liners to get my KW V2 installed and dilled.
Before drilling, maybe I should try out the pre-set damping from KW; or someone suggested to try

I believe the rears you can get your hand in to adjust. If you contact KW directly they will give you the recommended settings.

Hey Skyler, do these come in gunmetal?

These would be great for my winter setup - easier to clean than the multi-spoke.

We are considering bringing them in in machined/matte Anthracite similar to the OEM titanium finish.

Has anybody tried OE Sports with Bilstein shocks? I am deciding between that set-up and H&R coils... Spring and matched Shock set-up is about $300 cheaper and I am trying to save some money right now.

Has anyone with a lowered B8 S4 measured the distance to the ground on the underside of the front bumper cover?
My stock S4 suspension has 7" clearance to the ground and has already scraped the ground on a few driveways.

Even more concerning is, there is less than 4" clearance to the ground at the front lower control arm
    mounting point
    .
A lowered car will have even less clearance. See picture of 3.5" wide 2x4 underneath the front lower control
arm mounting point on a 2011 S4, stock supension.

I hit one of those car park 'parking stop kerbs' a few weeks back - while approaching it 'front in', very slowly. Even so, it made a very solid contact, which at the time shocked me, because I was expecting to have clearance and for the front tire to hit. After pulling back and brief inspection I could not see anything that would have made a 'thud' sound contact. It was night and dark area but needless to say I didn't try repeat the 'contact'.

NOW I am guessing it was the front lower control arm that I hit, it would have been hidden from view behind the cowling (your photo above) at the time I tried see underbody for any sign of damage.

I'm dropped on H&R OE's (35mm of so), but have not measured the actual clearance I have. Other than that however, no major rubbing issues ...... a couple of light underside scuffs on high gradient ramps.

In conclusion, I'll be more conscious of low hanging control arms in future! Thx ;-)

    Edit.
Maybe you should take that post and make as separate S4 thread - my first impression is that you've hit on something [pun unintended;-) ] and it might warrant it's own thread??

I have the H&R OE Sports and I measured my car at 6.5 inches. But one of our numbers has to be off, because that is only a half inch difference and the Oe Sports are supposed to be a 1.2 drop.

I guess I will have to give it another check. Perhaps my springs have not settled all the way, but it has been 3 weeks since install. So I would think they would be settled by now, but who knows.

currently torn between 20 inch or 19 inch rims to pair with V3s right now..
20 looks too big, 19 looks a bit small.. lol

I think I like the silver rims better on your car drvolkl
