    New 2.0T vs ours? Differences?

Either i suck at picking keywords, am lazy, or the search engines suck. I know the new 2.0T's have some improvements like a better oil filter in my opinion, but what are the real differences between the two? I mean they are still both 2.0T right? lol

Block is slightly different, weight has been shaved off. New cams with valve lift, different compression ratio (pistons), timing chain, turbo is different. There's a lot more that's too technical like accessory locations, etc.

The motors are night and day. Solenoids that ride on the exhaust cam that can control valve duration, better pcv system, the valve cover holds the cams in place, motor is positioned over the axle instead of in front of it, timing chain, hpfp redesigned. IMO its a better motor, but time will reveal its weak points.

Stock for stock definitely a better motor. The 2011 Tip 2.0Ts also get 8 gears.

the head flows much better as well. makes much more torque lower / sooner than the fsi. feels much stronger on the road. has to.. since the a4 is now the size of an a8.

Lol oddly enough I think there was some discussion on the B6 forum about BT B6s getting crushed by chipped B8s. The new 2.0T is not without it's flaws though.

the interior on the b8 is weird. i just feel like its missing something, cuz the trim doesnt go all the way across the front and i feel like its a bit awkward.

I've read that the TFSI has a timing chain instead of a timing belt.

The difference in the new B8 engine is their integration of a valvelift two level system. Basically creating more low-end torque.
