Way to go Did you try starting in third? I'm guessing you did, and found that gear to be pretty short due to your power band.

Now that is some pure madness, and good to see a 4th gear pull, just like I preach for high boosting cars.
The 4th gear 60-80/90 numbers are plain sick for such a tall gear:
60-80 in right under 1.3s is faster than a Veyron in its optimum gear and faster than a McLaren F1 in 2nd gear.
60-90 in 1.95s is also faster than the Veyron
At 130mph it is 0.3s ahead of the fastest Veyron in my file, and that is by using one gear, as opposed to the ultra quick DSG box in the Veyron.
100-200kmh looks like a 5.0 or high 4 and that is nuts. In comparison, the Porsche GT2RS does 100-200kmh in 7.0s in 4th gear and 6.3s using the gears.

It only works for him because of how much TQ his car makes. At 4k RPM he makes 540wtq. Compare that to my car which made like 360-370wtq at 4k rpm. Yet he only made like 30whp more peak.

That for most large turbo S4s, using only 4th gear is not usually better.

Depends on the individual setup. Compare to the 6.19 time posted by the 770 car in the original 60-130 thread. That one used 3rd and 4th.
At 100mph it was approx 0.16s ahead
At 110mph it was 0.77s behind, so the shift cost 0.93s.
At 120mph it was 0.57 behind
At 130mph it was 0.59s behind.

Judging from the 120-130mph time, the high rpm power/weight ratio of these two cars is nearly identical, and the 6.19s car actually gained a substantial 0.2s from 110-120mph, meaning a better power/weight ratio at this rpm/speed range: approx 6300-6800rpm. However, the fact that it gained time from 110 to 120 in addition to gaining 0.16s up to 100mph from using 3rd could not offset the 0.93s that it lost during the shift. On a turbo car, especially one that is depending on high boost, it is not just the shift action that steals time, there is a substantial amount of time spent regaining the boost that is lost during the upshift.
Get a DSG box (from a Veyron), or much simpler, FFS logic, and we would have an entirely different situation.

Right, but Daves car that ran the 6.19 also does not make nearly as much TQ, so starting in 4th it won't have as much TQ at the lower RPM of 60mph in 4th and will be slower.

Yep, the question is how much it would suffer at the start. 60mph is at approx. 3450rpm.
If it can manage a 3.45 or better 60-100mph time in 4th vs. the 2.52s in 3rd, it will match or beat the 6.19 time.

No. I have never tried it. Also the file is not setup for it. I am pretty sure with lightweight wheels, and some other tweaks I can improve on this time.

I want to keep the fun going. I am offering a rental service of my v-box. To rent my v-box it's $50 with a $100 refunded-upon-return deposit. I hope that sounds fair as they cost $450+ for the base models. It measures g force, it can give you your 1/4 mile time +- .025. the v box will be the renters for a week and I will post the data for them when I get the box back from him/her.

I think that's the first fast car I've seen from Europe, 4.7 100-200 is no joke. Unfortunately K24's spool about 2000rpm later than 770's, LOL.

Jason, what do you think a 770 fully built car would do in the mile? Just curious how our car would stack up when its taken as far as Shaun's was or Mike's before going his new route. Not 1/4 mile, standing.

Don't be shy. Stock times is great for a baseline.
Car & Driver tested a B5 S4 (3616 lbs) to 24.3s 60-130mph back in the day. That time probably includes 3 gear shifts: 2-3-4-5
German mag Sport Auto tested a Euro spec one (3506lbs, but tested two up) to 19.2s 100-200kmh. They also tested a remapped (320hp/375ftlb and 3540lbs) to 18.2s 100-200.

You really think there was a 2-3 shift in there? Why would they do that? That would suck to be ticking off time with shifting literally right as the run started..

They probably started from rest and accelerate through the gears changing at redline. Usually the times from magazimes are taken from the entire run.

Don't have links for the tests handy, as the times are out of my Excel database (900+ cars). You might find them at the respective websites of the magazines, though.

    I VBOX'd my car on wastegate pressure (0.5bar) at +- 295-300chp and it did 17.2sec from 100-200 :-)

B7 RS4: APR Supercharger, Stock Exhaust, Stock intake, 93 octane. 10.2 Seconds 60-130

The RS4 would definitely benefit from a full catless exhaust bc just that and a tune on a N/A car is yielding low 12.2's in the 1/4 mile compared to stock low 13's.
