Verified Results for the Volant CAI 3.2?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

I was browsing A5OC and nobody really had a clear answer to the gains/difference after installing a Volant cold air on their 3.2. I've heard gains of 12/14 and 4 mpg increase....

Have not seen a dyno sheet thus far.

Does anybody have any first hand usage of this product? Dyno'd or not, what are your current impressions?

    Thanks

Really like mine minus fitment. Sound is nice but not overdone. With the cai and my exhaust I really noticed good improvement.

Thanks, do you feel power gains? Or is your foot heavier due to the added sound fun? Lol

No, with the combo (put both on same day) if feel a definite difference. I've always thought they "need" each other for best results but definite power improvement from 2500 and up. And the intake is hard to define over exhaust noise wise. It almost just sounds like the exhaust gets louder at 4000 but it's the intake pitching in to the music.

Cool, what did you end up dng with your exhaust? Replaced mid only? Also, check ebay for intake. Got mine for only $200 from a shop that accidentally ordered 2 and only needed one.

Good call on eBay. For the exhaust, I replaced the mid muffler with an x pipe, I'm going to get the CAI first and see if I like the sound difference and if it's what I want. If not, I'll put two 11" magnaflow's in place of the rear resonators :D

That oem piece is flimsy shit. Fit it the best you can. That gap will not negatively affect.

I used a sanding chisel on the opening of the Volant CAI to create a larger space for the OEM piece to fit in. So try that if you aren't happy with the gap.
