whats the best option for a bike rack. i understand thule is a very popular one but whats a good option that is NOT a roof rack. i bmx and downhill. im also short, so loading bike onto the roof would suck for me... TIA

trunk mount would then be your next best bet

idk if thule makes a trunk mount for our cars. Check out rackattack or eastern mountain sports (online) to see. EMS store in paramus doesn't have a big selection of rack items. in stock.

where about Bergen County are you located. Im in N. Arlington.

Hitch would be your only other solution. DH bikes are too heavy to use trunk rack. But I would still get the Thule hitch rack.

I'm short too, you can do the roof rack. I somehow get my 45lb DH bike on my roof, lol.

Yeah I huck my 48lbs Rocky up there. To the OG OP, yeah i'm sure through the summer you've seen this A4 parked there. I'm always there. Today was the last day, so cold but pretty epic.

Hitches don't look right on Audis, but i'm sure they are easy on the arms. Haha, I'll whore, maybe give you an idea or maybe not.

I'd say just get the roof rack. I'm not a very tall guy either and I have no problems loading my bike or my boards.

Don't get a trunk mount. You'll scratch the hell out of your paint.

Hitch or trunk are your other two options; I've run a trunk rack in a pinch (I usually run a roof rack), but my rear bumper isn't structurally strong enough to support the weight. Hitch is kind of permanent...may or may not be a good thing. I'd suggest throwing it in your trunk (with the seats folded down), but if its a MTB or DH bike (and thus dirty), you may not want to do that.

ya, i throw my bmx in the trunk with the seats down. ive fit 3 bmx's with front wheels off with the double seat down (3 bikes and 3 kids in the car). it was pretty hard to get it, but when we got it all in, it was a tight fit. scratched the back of the rear pass seat with the front fork of my bike
