I did it to an A4 that I had... Not worth it... I would mod a leased car only if you decide you will buy ut at the end of the lease.

Leased here, and pretty thoroughly modded with all the basics.

May or may not buy out the lease in 18 months.

But regardless, don't do any mods that are not bolt on if you have any concerns. All my exterior mods are either OEM parts or also removable.

Overall though, it all depends on your situation. This thread may turn into a debate when it really shouldn't.

+1. Why does it matter if others have done it? If you want to, go for it. Just know that you will be expected to return the car in somewhat stock condition. I say "somewhat" because most inspection companies won't notice stuff that appears stock or actually is OEM/replica from another model or trim level.

I'm on a lease and have exhaust, springs and chip. gonna swap exhaust and springs at the end. I'm going stage 2 next month but that about all i'm going to do. Like the above said as long as everythign is back to stockish conditions you'll be fine. I just hope they don't check the ecu to make sure it wasn't removed haha

yeah try and stick with reversible mods. Keep your factory stuff to swap back. Tint is no big deal, so no worries there. I've got exhaust on my current lease. I'll take it off and sell it cheap when I'm done to help pay for the next one.

thats the problem when we all modifiy the car with expensive stuff..and later when we give the car ....all that stuff which we bought is not worth it ...the later we have to end up selling them....but if we r interested in buying the car thats the differnet story..

I agree it sucks losing out on the money in the end if you sell it, but you have the car for 3 or more years on a lease why not fully enjoy it? if you have money to spend on mods do it and enjoy the car while you have it.

Leasing here and may buy out at the end. Like everyone has said here, if you are unsure if "to mod or not to mod", just ask yourself "what should I mod?" All the things I've done are reversible, however it’s the personalization of your car and adding and changing things to exactly how you love them that make you want to keep it forever. Not that this is a bad thing, it just happens to many. Guilty.

true and if you dont buy out the car you get to sell your aftermarket parts and make back some $$$, even tho you dont break even, getting some money is better than none at all, and once you return your lease, any money is more than appreciated , you'll see
    i dont do autographs....

exactly, I've spent a couple grand in mods so far and i don't regret it at all, although it doesn't look or preform like a heavily modded car but i still love it. like you said I'll still get some money back in the end so what more could i ask for? well downpipe and stage 2 but that will come soon enough :)
