    Intake Option

I have been thinking of mods that I want to do to my newly purchased B8 S4 and I am researching the Intake piece now. I have looked around and only found a couple of options. The AWE and the Stratmosphere. I love the sound of Strat. Does anyone have any suggestions for other intake options or talking points on the + or - of either of the ones I listed?

    Thanks

I doubt if power is going to be a deciding factor. If not about power, then its about sound. The Hyperflow intake produces a distinctive high pitched whine. We haven't yet heard the new AWE intake - as far as I know....

Theres nothing to hear with the AWE intake. Its pretty much silent just like the stock box.

The high pitched whine with the Stratmosphere intake is just the Supercharger sound being uncorked. The sound is barely audible in the cabin, especially if you have the radio on at even a low volume. You'll know the intake is still there, but it's nothing obnoxious. That said, I love my Stratmosphere Hyperflow intake, probably the first intake I've run in 10 years that actually installs as easily as they claim it does and after running at the strip I have to believe that it actually makes a slight difference in performance. This is especially true on cars with tuned ECUs.

I can't speak to the A.W.E. intake since I've never seen one or heard one, but I absolutely love the Hyperflow.

Hope to do some datalogging with it as soon as I get hold of a vag-com for a day or two.
