car is misfiring and the mechanic cant figure out what the problem is?

couple days ago after replacing the cam adjuster seal (half moon) i got a CEL for a lean mixture. So i went to mechanic, turns out it was the hose that goes from the turbo to intercooler which had a hole. So i replaced that, came home and noticed the car started to studder slightly, so i took it for a boot and when i came to park, it was misfiring like crazy and CEL was blinking. So back to the mechanic and we did a lot of stuff to check and we cant figure out whats wrong with it. Here is what i checked let me know if i missed anything.

    -Checked for coilpacks and plugs
-Checked for vaccuum leaks or other leaks(smoke machine)
-checked the timing, front and back(since i replaced the seal i thought when he put the chain back the timing was messed, but wasnt)
-the pressure is good in all cylinders cause we tested it
i doubt its the cat since i replaced it under warranty from audi earlier this year

let me know if there is something else i should try, im about to explode.........thanks

Did you run the codes? Is it isolated to one cylinder?

How about you check your spark plugs? I popped a coil in my wifes Jetta just this week and ended up needing to replace the spark plug and coils cause it fauled out since I limped it home. Also I would get a new mechanic period.
