to anyone that did the installs, did u notice that your brake pedal isnt snug? the dead pedal, clutch and gas went on no problem and are a nice tight fit but the brake kinda shimmies around a little bit. last thing i need in an emergency situation is for the brake pedal cover to come off

I just did this mod this evening myself and ended up with the same result.

I don't think it will come off. Just to be sure, I did some test driving on uncrowded roads. Doesn't seem to effect braking ability.

Seems like it should be tight though! Especially for the BRAKE pedal! I noticed that both the original anmd the RS4 brake pedals have a center rubber tab which inserts into a hole in the center of the actual brake arm and pedal form/support.

Looking at the original oem brake pedal cover, the design in the way each attaches appears the same?

Anyone else have any opinion or experience on this? Maybe it will better mold to the base over time?

Yes, noticed the same. The brake pedal seems to have a little bit of give up and down. Maybe a couple millimeters but you can notice it with you hand. I can't notice it with my foot. I've pulled quite hard with my hands and it doesn't seem like it is coming off :)

+1 After installing mine, I noticed the brake pedal could be moved by hand a few mm's. I pulled and tugged and twisted to see if it could come off by accident and I see no way that can happen.

One plus if that with the added thickness on the gas pedal, I think it makes it easier for heel/toe.

Regarding the movement of the brake pedal cover, I took it to my Auto Sound-Electronics Guru. He ingeniously applied some black silicone adhesive under it and by the next morning it was tight as a drum.

It's something that doesn't show but can still be removed if necessary.

Are we talking about the RS5 pedals? I have them on order at ECS and they will come some day...

The shimmy problem (I believe) is only with the manual brake pedal. My understanding is you would use the RS6 pedal set if you have automatic transmission.

I am not even sure there is such a thing as RS5 sport pedals and I know they are not made by BMW!

So you might just want to compare the RS6 oem pedal part numbers listed in David B8's instructions here and confirm with ECS Tuning.

Thanks. I just asked ECS tuning and those will fit and are Audi. Don't know what the BMW deal is...
