how do you get your grille to look like this???

i own a b6 a4, so i know i can't do it on my car, but i was just wondering.

you can't just take off the plate holder, can you?
and i can't find it aftermarket, does anyone know if it is in fact aftermarket???

Agreed, that appears to be the standard RS5 grill with the matte aluminum finish. They have that one and a black version with black surround that you can order from the German parts counters. I've been drooling over these since before I even got my S5 and I want one quite badly... however... even at a "good" price they run about $1100 plus shipping. I haven't been able to stomach that price tag yet and have been patiently awaiting their release in the US to see what the cost will be from a local parts counter.

The part number for the black one is 8T0853651D T94 in case anyone was feeling like buying me one. :)

+1 I have my S5 debadged along with my side mirror housing color match to my car. Personal preference :)

That's flip up plate can be fitted in the space between the lower bumper and the grille.

How does the full frontal look with that grille though? I know there is a big yellow bar behind it that plate covers... i mean i guess you can paint it black... but it'll still be seen, won't it?

The A5 standard models actually have mesh side grilles, but there are no mesh pieces for the S-Line or S5 model unfortunately.

The pieces behind the bumper can be painted or coated in something black to avoid seeing what lies behind the grille. You can also fit a plate holder, just like Sun has. I think with the plate holder it's quite a smart looking grille, very nice Sun!

true but the RS5 also doesnt have fog lights and the bumper grilles down there are much larger... this is just an A5 S-line with modded fog grilles and an RS5 front grille.

IMO, the black optic RS5 grille looks much better; in particular on a light colored car.

i dont see any reason why you couldnt buy a clean filler plate for an S5 and fix it to this grille.. may take some tweaks here and there, but if you do all the tweaks to the filler and not the grille, the most youre risking is a couple hundred bucks (not all $1k taht the damn grille costs) .. you could probably even zip-tie it from behind before you install the grille into the bumper

Damn I really want to do the RS5 grill. I'm sure it's mad pricey unless you do some of your own fabrication, and there is no way I will attempt that.
