hey friends I have a small problem

left front outer cv boot torn

    and

    right front drive axle seal

it is better to replace them, or change the whole axle ......

this question is silly but the new axle has included the axle seal?

the cost of this is 4.5 hours $ 360 IS OK?????? JUST FOR CV BOOT AND AXLE SEAL

How many miles do you have on the axle? If it's old, I would just replace it with one from raxles. Labor is going to be the same for both jobs. 4.5 hours is a long time. It should take only about 1.5 for the job. Is this the dealer?

Replace that sucker and ask in your regional forum for shop recommendations. Hopefully someone can help you find a good shop around your way. I think the labor money is up there because of them also charging for the cleaning, etc.

Replacing the whole axle takes less time and labor than doing the CV boot.

The reason that the labor estimate is so high is because they're replacing the driver's side output flange seal, in addition to the passenger side axle. They have to remove both axles in the process. I think it should be maybe 3 hours for the job.
