    Will this allow me to play my ipod using the stock Symphony deck. It plugs in the back of your radio, i believe where the CD changer plugs in..

    yes, that was a typo and was suppose to say hole. I was on my phone at work replying. The CD Changer plug is circular, thus that adapter you linked to, wont work. IT has 1 RCA connector, 1 square plug and another plug that looks nothing like the CD changer plug.

    Yes, but that adapter does not plug into the cd changer plug in the trunk. It plugs into your radio, where the harness from the cd changer plugs into. Also I was thinking of getting a good fm transmitter. How is the sound quality on the itrip?

    Yes I would work, but you would loose rear speakers as you will need to unplug the current wiring harness for this 3 wires plug.
    I bought a similar product, did a lot of research, and came to the conclusion that I will need to splice the current hardness and reprogram the radio to enable the CD-changer for a signal.

    It's not done yet, but it's a great buy!

    Btw, the Ipod adapter and the AUX will do the same thing and the Ipod plug will not charge your Ipod...

    You can get more informations here;
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...n-for-Symphony

    Edit: Dont get scared whit this link, it's quite simple
    http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articl...odinstall.html

    If you hit the CD-Changer button, 12v power will lock the relay until you choose another input from the radio, this relay will enable the AUX-in signal. This is all!

    Edit2: For an USB charger, this DIY is great;

    You didnt read the add did you? It said he had it on his stock radio for a good amount of years so obviously it would play. Just look for an other one like that online and your ready to go.

    I have a dension ice link you can have for fairly cheap. It is version "120 Audi R". Plugs into the back of the stereo, the plug looks NOTHING like the one you linked in your first post. The one I have is new, but i've used the same product in a 2000 and 2001 A4 w/ symphony/Bose, works great. Digital sound, can control ipod using the stereo head unit controls, or the ipod itself. I paid a bit over $100 for this one (first one I bought was $175 years ago..) Could let it go for $50 or so.

    I don't have time to search for it right now but there is an adapter that plugs in between the cd changer and harness at the back of the car. It has a switch that allows you to run the changer or two different rca inputs. I looked at it a few years ago as a way to incorporate an ipod and a dvd player without losing my phatnoise system.

    FNK, in the first link you posted, the thread that you started, did you ever get that cable that cybersombosis mentioned at the end of the thread? i'm just looking for a simple solution to get cd quality sound output from the stock stereo. I could care less if my mp3 player charges or is able to be controlled from the steering wheel and i dont want to spend $50-60 on a wire like T0mat3 posted. i mean, if thats the only solution then i'll still get the cable, but if your way works and all i have to do is buy the cable cybersombosis posted, then i'd rather do that.

    No I did not got it, as I believe I would loose the CD player completely... but It would work.
    If you want to keep everything working + another connector, you need a small box whit relays inside such as DICE Ipod or to build it your self.

    If the one I plan on doing work as supposed to, I might as well build some then sell those cheap and make a DIY for those who want to do it them selves...
    But this can take time as University take most of it...
