Big turbo pricing????

I know i dont really post alot but i just have a stock 2002 a4 1.8t, and i want some more power and was just wondering as an estimate of how much it would be to run turbos like a gt3076r, gt3082r or a gt35. I know i should build the engine too, im just looking for ideas now. Also what would i need to get there from stock, and how long would it take to do this if i took it too a shop. Thanks for your input

I have done a gt28 for 2100. Bought a blown turbo and had it rebuilt. Ebay intercooler. custom piping used injectors and crap like that if you go used and source it together you should be able to do it for under 5 all day long. if you want to go pick it up off the shelf and have a shop do it you will spend 10..

I was also running a veryy shitty tune. shitty is the only way to describe it so please excuse my language.

4500 (goin with new stuff) minimum for a gt3076 setup with tune, that does not include any of the supporting mods (IC, Clutch, etc..)

I have spent slightly over $6k dollars (completed) on my build. I am running a PTE 5857, which is really close to 35R size. I wasn't looking to make the most power ever in a 1.8, I'll leave that to the guys that have money to blow.

I also did my own work, which saved $$$

Plan on 10K for anything larger than a 2871. I'm in the same boat as you are. Thats Rods, Clutch, Inj, Turbo, FMIC, ect.. This being all new and quality parts.

-lines
-tubular manifold
-downpipe
-injectors
-Billet MAF
-Intake and silicone
-gaskets/hardware
-Fully build head
-06A bare block
-Rods
-Pistons
-Clutch/lwfw

and i still need a FMIC and Crank plus putting it all together

That's fine you can make a bulletproof 600awhp A4 it just costs a ton of money. You have to find the line where your comfortable with breaking stuff. Where you can't justify spending $1500 on a 6speed trans when u get a 5speed for 10 times less, stuff like that. Anyways, if you want a big HP car, follow reaper, me, and alexliu's builds.

There are also some cheaper options that still make power, like the 2 Dans cars. Keep in mind 375awhp is still stupid fast

that would be great to have 600awhp but your right that would cost alot, im lookin more around to be in the 350-400awhp range which ive been reading looks difficult to achieve unless im wrong,

The worst part is, there is not much difference between a 300whp A4 and a 450whp A4, beside higher traps, broken trannys, headaches, and a smaller wallet...

dont forget the $5000 it will cost you to fix all the problems youll have. im currently digging into that reserve fund (that i never reserved) due to the incompetent shop that installed my turbo with a coolant line touching the turbo. 3 months later i get a nice coolant light flashing and a nearly overheated engine. ive also been fighting a boost issue that i have no time ever to figure out.

basically what im saying is dont count on spending money on the build and having everything go flawless.

Very true i could see alot going wrong..
and another question this is just a thought though what if i just buy another engine and give it to a shop to build it up, so i can still drive mine car. And its not like i can do any of the work myself, dont have the tools, space or know how to.
