    aS4driver wins Swift Motorsports dyno day w/ his TiAL 605 car

    Congrats to Evan and his EPL/TiAL 605 car for dominating the Swift Motorsports / UCONN dyno day in Norwich, CT on Saturday.



    The car drove up there on 93 pump fuel, was strapped to the dyno and threw down 487whp on Swift's Dyno Dynamics dyno, easily winning the overall contest, amongst STIs, EVOs, and some domestic muscle. The next most powerful car was a 440whp Porsche 911 turbo w/ bolt-ons, which was no match for the TiAL 605s. Thank you Evan for representing the S4 so well!

    Nice!

    So this car put down a hair under 500 on EPLs dyno before revising and more boost, then put less down on another dyno after revising and more boost? I remember reading Evan was hoping with the tweaks to be over 500..

    Still awesome though! He should try to get a roll out trap before the season closes!

    Im unaware of any boost revision?

    Typically dyno dynamics read more conservative then mustang's. Im completely comfortable with the fact that the Evan pulled his car in 7000+ miles after is was tuned, and made with in 10 hps of what he made here on a dyno thta generally reads lower....

    congrats again evan!! dyno dynamics are known to be heart breakers.. 478 sounds about right to me given a tick under 500 on a mustang.

    All I needed to know was answered by Mike... Sounds good. I just remember Evan speaking of more timing or more boost, whichever it was, and with the latest revisions to hopefully be over 500. That's all.

    There were no adjustments made to the tune. The car actually made 487 whp. I will post the graph later.

    The local Dyno Dynamics dyno is consistently known as the heartbreaker. very very conservative numbers.
    EPL Stage 3 with a bunch of other crap.

    well, he is stock drivetrain and probably afraid about revving over 7k... what's the point anyway, especially on dyno. He can't make any more power on 605s and stock heads.

    Uhm.. that would be a Dynapack totally out of calibration. Dynapacks are hub dynos and will read higher than proper roller dynos like Mustang and Dyno Dynamics, due to the elimination of rolling resistance and rotational inertia.
    Example: A stock R35 GTR will pull a little more than 400whp on a Mustang and Dyno Dynamics, and close to 460whp on a Dynapack.

    agreed. guess I missed that post. they also cant generate significant load or simulate driving conditions. The eddy current load that is used on Mustang dynos make them the best tuning tool.

    +1 worst dyno to "measure your dick with", but the best dyno to tune with.

    full boost at around 4400 rpms? I expected these bad boys to spool a bit earlier..
    gone..but; NEVER forgotten.. 00' BrilliantBlack on Black S4 (was to be built into a BEAST) circumstances will change but memories are all we got left at the end of the day..
