    Chrome mirror housing?

    Hey Guys I just bout a pair of the S4 mirror housings... would anybody be able to give me an idea on the level of difficulty to install them? do I need to take the whole mirror off?

    It's not that difficult but you do have to be very careful you could crack your mirror or break a few clips on the housing. I remember the first time I did it I cracked my mirror. Just remember to move the mirror into the car so u can fit ur fingers behind it and pop it out. But I recommend having a buddy who's done it before but if your careful I'm sure you can do it man

    I've done it a few times when I had my carbon mirrors made.

    Point the mirror all the way in using the motor (or pushing)....grab a towel around the outside edge and pull forward on the one side until it's out of the clip and then pull the other side out.....don't jerk it out but use a steady firm action. I'm not sure what year you have (or if the procedure is different after they changed styles from '09) but the mirror housing itself slides off after depressing clips...no screws need to be touched. It's on there pretty tight but once it lets go it comes right off. Putting it back on was more difficult for me.
    My other home is an AIRSTREAM.

    Thanks guys I think i might have a bodyshop do it, i was just curious how difficult and long it takes to do... thanks guys
