Remove speed limiter AEB for FREE!

Just cut wire #20 (white/blue) in the ECU harness. No more speed LIMITER!

*****This will give you a Check Engine Light.*****

Your speedometer will still work. Tried and tested in my car (AEB). But will most likely work in any other car.

*I use an AEM FIC to tune my car. So chipping the ECU just to remove the speed-limiter isn't a cost-effective option.


EDIT: Added bonus! Lost my rev-limiter. Good thing I can set a rev-limit using FIC.
EDIT 2: It only removed the rev-limiter on one of my ECU's. It either removed the limiter or the other ECU (stock) is messed up.

huh good to know.. But out here in cali if you have a check engine you aint passin smog......... I heard there is a way to do it through vag com... Any body know??

I did it going downhill.. on a portion of the thruway coming from Boston. Non chipped a4.. ran right up to redline.. took me a few minutes.. However the car felt very solid at that speed. I wount do that again with out a big brake kit better suspension/ sway bars and probably a better set of tires.. And oh yea hit the speed limiter on a track!

Same thing I was thinking.
Let alone, this is still use full knowledge.
I did the tuning my self on my turbo, so my speed limiter still exists.
I feel that I'd run out of gearing before we top out this 1.8t anyways.

What? the limiter stops the car before redline... either you're lying, or your car is actually chipped (but I can't really see a 200hp A4 hitting ~150mph, I could be wrong though!)

Uhm... my old 2.8 hit the speed limiter no problem NOT going down hill, Didnt try it with the 1.8t.

129 km or mph, i hit 210 km before, so just shy above 130, before i chipped mine, now i do the same hitting, just faster :D

fastest I hit 3 years ago on a k03 with APR chip was 145 and i blew the turbo...i don't recommend you run a k03 with almost 100k that hard lol

I topped my car out at 130 this weekend mods are in the sig.. My car had alot more to give..It was like hitting a wall when i hit the limiter...

How do you disable it through vagcom? I cant have a check engine light here in socal to pas smog

149 MPH. GIAC chip and KW suspension (Not a power adder but definately more confidence inspiring). I wasn't topped out in RPM , but she wouldnt want to go any faster than that.

Not possible thru vagcom.

Easiest way is, use a switch. Switch it on then reset code for smog. Then switch it off after passing

I never installed it. My buddy took it out of his turbo Honda and gave it to me, and I found out that I couldn't properly use it on my B6, but from what I understand, it'll work on B5s. so its just been sitting in my trunk for like a year.
