Secondary air pump and check valves

I know it is possible to delete the secondary air pump/egr/check valve crap out of my engine bay, but what does this actually do to the car. Any emissions issues or engine issues i should be aware of? I want to clean up the engine bay and delete stuff but don't want to hurt anything possibly. Thanks!

Matt, read over this thread VERY CAREFULLY: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...simplification

To get rid of some of the CELs, you may need to get the ECU specially programmed by a tuner to simply "ignore" the existence of an item and report good ready codes. One caveat to that is that more and more emission testing centers are getting smarter and picking up on where parts should be located in a car as well as testing the ECU to see if it has been tampered (having ready codes come back immediately after a reset).

Another option is to get your car registered in a county that doesn't do e-checks. Then go to town cleaning up everything.

you can get collector plates after only 10 year in Ohio?

if that's true and they don't require that you have another non-collector car, you've got it easy.

As long as you spend a crap load of money on it and have the receipts to back it up and show that it is essentially a show car or weekend car then you can get collector plates. I have a daily driver. The Audi is my fun car so no worries there.

Lol its simple to rid yourself of the sai on this car. It was kinda hard to hide that it was missing on my old 2.0 since the pump is at the top of the motor between the motor and the radiator. Just a giant gap with a bracket that holds nothing was left there.
