nope... chinese characters are apparently not supported outside of china for some idiotic reason...

MMI does not seem to support full Unicode... merely english and european accented letters... I have been unable to get Cyrillic Greek, Cyrillic Russian, Japanese, and Korean characters to display

I too have music from those countries so I'm not thrilled either... I simply translated titles into english for my car mp3 drive.

Well, if you have done your searches, you would have found a lot of older posts regarding about east Asian language characters on the MMI. The only method is to flash your firmware to the Chinese firmware to get Chinese characters displaying correctly, but then you would lose all English texts.

Maybe if you are a genius programmer, you can code something up for us.

In Asia, the Audi MMI supports English, Chinese and German. The North American version MMI supports English, Spanish and German. The MMI hardware should be the same. There must be some way to flash the MMI to a different regional firmware. Anyone knows how?

It seems that MMI doesn't have a proper support for Unicode. So ghetto.
I guess we should be thankful the interface was translated to English at least.
