I was driving on the parkway doing around 70mph and in the middle of nowhere my car just started to skid as if i pressed on the brake and i never pushed on the brake. what can cause it to just brake like that. Luckily there weren't many cars around cause i could have hit someone.
    Drive low, park lower

This is most often a CV joint binding.

or a rear caliper carrier bolt snuck loose on you, the caliper rotates and sets the E brake

In my experience our CV's will pop the balls out of their cage well before they seize and skid the car at 70mph
    I don't think I care anymore

Could also be a wheel bearing that siezed up...

Would had to have made a hell of a lot of noise for quite a while up to that point though.

Wheel bearing is easy to check, jack car up an see if wheel will rock top to bottom, if no, then not it.

Can a wheel bearing seize without having excessive runout?

If you have ESP, it's possible the ABS pump could be locking up that wheel. It happened on my mom's benz due to water getting into the module.

Typically wheel bearings and cv joints will make all sorts of noise before they take a shit on you.
