already got the 8 10mm nuts, timing cover allen bolts, timing cover bracket. Ive been taping with a rubber mallet, lifting, soaked the bolt studs with penetrating oil and nothing. Im at a loss.

use a rubber mallet and tap it on the sides lightly a few times to try and break it loose?

You hammered it sideways or only from top? Tap it hard sideways and it should let go.

Failing that, take something sharp made of strong plastic, strong wood or something to that respect and wedge/hammer it directly between the block and cover.

If you are replacing the gasket run a razor blade around it then lift with a puddy knife or large flathead screwdriver.

yeah ifyour opening it you should be replacing the gasket so might as well go at it and wedge/pry it apart.

If you have one, use a pry bar. I just had this on a customer's car and it wouldn't budge, put the pry bar between the cover and the gasket and it popped right up. It was definitely stuck to it though.
