Milltek exhaust users - reasonance + water drips

    1. Anyone using Milltek reasonated catback? I have bad reasonance @ low revs, cant seem to take it at times hahaha fills up the cabin with the 'mmmmmmmmm' but once on the move above 2,000rpm its fine. Seems like drone on the bad side hahahahahaa oem exhaust aint so bad anyway, this Milltek set seems to escalate that drone.

Anyone knows how to reduce such within the cabin? Like insulation below floor board, boot etc?

    2. I guess the water drips are off the aircon condenser and sometimes it seems to have dropped on some pipes that gave the hissing sound (when water hits hot metal). Anyone knows if this is normal?

The hiss is definitely normal. Had that with stock exhaust...it's not caused by the milltek. I've got the non-resonated Milltek on mine but I've got a 6 speed so it isn't too bad at all. Are you 6MT or S-Tronic?

It's a shame you didn't read the forums a little more before buying an exhaust. It's a well known fact that the DSG cars require the resonated versions *IF* you want to make sure there is no drone or resonance.

    tortoise,

Are you running resonated or non-resonated? From your first post it seems you're running resonated.

I heard the non-res version on Zerins car and it's nice. I don't think it's any louder than the APR exhaust which is amazing since the Milltek non-res have no rear mufflers! lol

Agreed.... It's almost 20 lbs lighter as a result of that... Gotta love anytime you can take some weight of this car....

My Milltek non res with down pipes on 6MT. Zero drone, all awesome sound. APR sounds to close to stock IMO and it seems to be a heavier unit...

The only thing stock sounding about the APR exhaust is how quiet it is when crusing on the frwy and the fact that there is no drone or resonance. Other than that... it's NOTHING like stock. It sounds great.

I posted this in the other thread, but my red car in this video has the Milltek Non-Resonated exhaust w/ downpipes. It's not fully broken in yet but it sounds soooooooo good.

Maybe it was improperly installed? I can't answer your question unfortunately. I just know that what I've been told and what people write on the forums is that the resonated versions of the exhausts are the ones that don't drone or resonate. And even then, some people don't mind the drone even with the DSG cars.
