    Quick Question

    So just now the oil light came on... (oil pan with "min" beneath it)... In the morning im leaving for a trip.. about 300 miles round trip.. it ok to drive with that distance .... I cant get into the dealer before i leave since it is sunday.

    Our cars burn a lot of oil, add it before you leave. I actually always keep a spare quart in my trunk just in case.

    go to autozone/kragen, etc pick up some 5w40 synthetic oil and add at least 1 quart. I would suggest buying 2 quarts and having one in the trunk encase of anything.

    b7s use 5w40 instead of 0w40?

    Most of the VW502 approved oils are 5W40 (e.g., Castrol Syntec). However, as noted above, Mobil 1 0W40 is also approved.
