    OEwheelsllc vs. VMR????

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I know audizine is hardcore VMR, i guess you guys get paid from them LOL. joking, but I need new tires so i thought might as well save on mounting and balancing costs and shipping costs by buying a wheel and tire package came across this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fits-...ht_9302wt_1161

I mean are the VMR's that much better, this is a pretty unbeatable price I know the tires suck but hey if I can get 20,000 miles I'm happy. what do you guys know about OEwheelsllc is my only question?

vmr's have a amazing quality to them. they are backed by a 1 year warranty on the finish of them. and they look sick. theyre made specifically for the bolt patterns of our cars. thats pretty much the reason why so many people go with them. where in jersey are u?

It's worth a shot, I guess, I mean they look nice, but it's not really much cheaper, (50-100 bucks) for VMR. $50 is not enough savings for me to shop from a seller with no reputation on AZ. Not to mention, they are ET42, so you'll have to buy spacers to make them look better, that's more money. They are only 18" x8", and most people on here would prefer 19" x 8.5" with and ET35. I mean 18's look nice, but I think 19's look better. You also have a choice of patterns and colors with VMR, and this is more of a "take it or leave it" kinda company. Just saying.

Appreciate the insight on the spacers, if you dont mind why would I need to buy spacers? with 19"s though dont want to lose to much on the ride quality.

Seems like a pretty badass price for a wheel setup. Plus if you go to their ebay store they have a lot more options for audi setups. I say try it!!!!!!!!!!! and they have a good rating.

Sorry, forgot tires were included in that price. Doh! But the other stuff I said still stands! But that might be worth the shot in savings. You never know if you'll regret it or not with a company like that though.

A buddy has VMR and their service is nothing short of amazing - he bent a wheel on the track (and even the best forged wheels in the world would have bent with the flogging he gave them) and they replaced the wheel for super cheap (less than the repair).

IMO, do it once and do it right. VMR is a great company with high quality wheels, it's a no brainer.

Also, the link you posted is for ET42 offset - while it would fit, it wouldn't be flush...or even close. That offset is made for A3s and GTIs, not A4s. Go VMR, get ET35, you'll thank me later...

Not life changing, but the more flush the better - the devil is in the details. It's definitely noticeable and I can name plenty of folks that buy 3 - 5mm spacers to get better fitment. Again, just my two cents...

At the end of the day, a set of tires once delivered and balanced they would run $650 for an extra $200 to get new rims... LOL I mean that can't be beat. I appreciate everyone input if these end up being shit, I will at least have an answer for you guys and will probably go with VMR's. thank you guys for your insight, it is always greatly appreciated.

I really like these, great price and I've had some good luck with ebay rims/wheel combos. If I had the money I'd probly pull the trigger on these, some1 should deff look into these. Dont get me wrong...VMR is awesome and worth the price but saving money is always in goal and these seem like a great alternative

first of all...that package has 225's on a 18" rim...thats gonna look ridiculously ugly on ur car...they are basically gonna look like bicycle tires...2nd of all, this came up in another thread about the same rim actually...although they may look similiar the vmr's look nicer overall...the way the spoke curves into the lug nuts is different...like if u put 2 18" wheels from each maker the oe llc ones are more flatter than the vmr 18's...i kno about concave and all that stuff but that wasnt it...the vmrs are jus nicer looking in general...i have my eyes set on these and if u get the rims from mod bargain and the tires (with general exclaims) from discount tires u spend another 400 bucks than what u would pay for if u got them from these other guys in a package...and the way i see it for another 400 bucks i dont havta worry about the quality of the product and id be happier...jus like nnnick said basically...and thats my .02

Ebay wheels are 8" wide and VMR 8.5".
    So the difference is
4 mm - (from the offset)
    6.5 mm - 0,5" wider /2 or 13mm / 2

So basically the VMR are 1 cm or 10.5 mm closer to the fenders, big difference to me. So you would need 10mm spacers on ebay wheels for the same look.

At the end of the day NEXEN 3000 tires should cost around 450$ shipped (tire-easy.com) + 50$ install/balancing in 225/40/R18.... = 500$. But I agree with you that this is cheap for wheels and tires package.

Or maybe NANKANG NS-II for 340$ - 50$ mail-in rebate shipped to your door (yes 4 tires shipped for 290$) from discounttiredirect.com....

225/40/R18 can be found for real cheap!

I was worried about the tire also they have this package also give you an extra 10mm on the tire width. i dont know man I would love VMR but to spend 1400 on rims and tires is tough right now.

don't cheap out on ebay wheels, that's what I did and I hit a pothole in NYC and ended up with a cracked and bent rim. the company wasn't oemwheelsllc but it was vortex tuning and they basically told me to f*ck myself when i inquired about replacement. I bought them for $150 a piece and they offered to sell me a new one in 2 months at $240. So don't dick around and cheap out with parts for your Audi, the extra few hundred bucks in well spent on VMR.

The VRMs have more concave to them, those ebay wheels might have the same spoke design but they're a much different looking wheel (not for the better either).

I got new tires a month ago 235/39R19 and a shop charged me 12$ per tire for the instal and balancing on my VMR wheels... I would recommand a quality shop though so they do not damage your wheels.

    1. I am not sure if VMR wheels are better in term of strength compare to ebay wheels but Canada / Quebec roads are pretty bad and I have them since two years now without bending one. Let say that I have hit many holes!

    2. Also if you get VMR wheels that are powdercoated like mine I am sure the finish will hold up better than cheap ass painted wheels from ebay.

    3. If ever you need a new wheel for any reason (bent wheel / accident, etc) you have more chance that VMR will still exist and will still offer the wheel.

    4. To my taste VMR look better because of their concavity / quality look

    5. VMR wheels are designed for Audi and tested on many Audi for fitment. RS4 center caps fit on them (100$ for 4 though)

I am not saying that VMR wheels are the best wheels in the world, they are not as strengh / light than forged wheels but for the price they are good.

Why dont you just get tires for now and the extra $ you would have spent on the ebay setup save and save some more then get your VMR's. Winter is coming soon, so having old wheels to drive on is not that bad imo.

$430 for just them rims, or $890 for a set with 235/40's. Might try this setup with a winter tire. If you mess a rim up it wont hurt as bad for a little over $100 per rim.

you really have to know that you get what you pay for....especially with rims. Thats honestly a pretty crazy deal but theres usually always a catch. Saving up a little more and going with VMR's is probably the best and safest bet but you could make a gamble and go with those. Who knows, it could pay off

OE wheels are painted, I'm pretty sure VMR are powder coated, that is a huge difference in durability. I've worked with OE and they are very easy to deal with and the wheels aren't terrible, but not the same quality are real Audi wheels.

looks like an awesome deal and the seller has some great feedback. you could try to contact previous buyers buy going through the feedback list on OE wheels ebay page. maybe there you could get some details on the quality of the set

If you like to swap wheels frequently, I think they are a great way to give your car a new look for a nice price. If you want durable wheels to last for years, look elsewhere or order two sets! I personally would skip a few expensive nights out and go with the VMRs. Whatever you do, get five wheels, it will keep the curb gremlins away.

VMR are not power coated, they scratch easily. I got one set, but I'm happy with them for the price I payed.

HA! If I only had the discipline to do that I would have many more mods on my car and probably have an extra set of wheels or two. Oh well, too easy/fun to spend money I guess.

Newer design VRMs are powdercoated. My V713 are powdercoated and do not scratch easily. VMRs RS4 are probably not powdercoated though...

those were the first rims ive ever bought. the 18 inch from oewheels and honstely i woundnt want to buy from them again. first off the finish would get spotty and messed up after a few months and what gives the rs4's there look is the concave look which these do not offer as much. i used them for a few months then sold them.. go with vmr its the closest thing to the oem look if you want rs4's

Man I've been looking at these pics for a half hour now seeing how much of a difference there actually is. My next question, for you guys who have these wheels, what did you spend for a wheel and rim package on 18"s??? thank you in advance.

it's not a bad price and a set of wheels. just because they are on ebay doesnt mean they are complete garbage. A friend purchased a set of csl reps (without me knowing) and the wheels turned out to be great. I may be under the wrong assumption here, so correct me if I am wroing, but most replica wheels come from the same region. Ultimately, both vmr and ebay seller both sell knock off wheels, just vmr are much more widely known for their products.

I will agree with others and say that vmr has the better wheels (I have never owned a set, out of my price range :P), so I cant testify for their quality, but lots of people love them on the forum. I would suggest you maybe scoring a used set of vmr wheels or other wheels in our classifieds. You might not find a set of used 18's with brand new tires for the ebay price, but maybe around that price range you can find something else you may like. Try the classifieds!

Worst case, you buy the wheels you are not happy with them you can sell them for a small loss and get something else. email the seller, maybe they have other offset's, tire packages, etc to offer you.
