Got some new goodies today [updated with new pics]

Everything is from Alex @ Europrice. The stock S4 steering wheel feels thin compared to this one, so I can't wait to put it on.

How much did all those run you?
Steering I am guessing about $1,500-$2,000? I know the pedals are around $280 (if they are the same RS5 ones). Which shift knob is that? That doesn't seem like the S-tronic one that everyone was getting earlier. Any other pictures of it that you can share?

Yes, well over $2k for everything you see. Pricey, but makes a night and day difference. The pedals are direct bolt on from the RS5 and the shift knob is from the RS6. Personally, I like it better than the S3 shift knob which requires heating and twisting. Here are few more shots of the knob:

Posts pictures when you are done! Let me know how the install for the shift knob goes, I might be interested. As far the pedals, they are bolt ons yes, but still gave me a heck of a time installing them. I cannot quite slip the gas pedal on fully (it's about 80% in) but it stays on, so I don't care. Brake is the easiest, and the dead pedal, if you can, try to loosen the kick penal on the side if you want perfect fit. Mine isn't (small gap) but I couldn't be bothered.

+1 regarding the installation of the RS6 shifter. Good choise by the way (would love to replace mine with the RS6 one aswell). Mind to share the price of the shifter?
Good pick on the steering wheel aswell.
    Enjoy the parts :)

I had my Euro S4 pedals set ordered at Ebay $290 shipped.
I ordered them from an Ebay seller who is working at Germany dealership parts department.

I believe RS5 using the same pedal sets. And I was told RS6 will not fit perfectly.
I installed them (took less than half hour) and they are perfect fit. No gap not need to loosen anything.
Gas pedal is the most difficult part to install for me.

Interested in the shift knob. What was the price and let us know how install goes. If it's a direct fit without issue, I think I'll be buying one. Would love a replacement wheel, but can't justify over $900 for one.

Linkseal, what's involved with installing the pedal set? Any drilling or permanent damage? Would it be easy to revert back to stock and how difficult is it to do the install?

There's a gap on the side of the dead pedal (look at your pic, the left side). The proper way to install it is to loosen the kick panel and then slide the kick panel into that "clip" on the left side of the dead pedal. It seems a lot of work to me, so I just have the clip part push against the kick panel. Apparently you can "work" it in but it wasn't budging for me. =\

Did you use lube for the gas pedal because I can only get 3 sides to slide on. Right now, my "left", "right" and "bottom" are in, just not the top, but it doesn't move or shift, so I left it as is. Brake was the easiest one.

No drilling, just elbow grease and brute force. Only problem in reverting back to stock is, the stock dead pedal have clips at the back that will break (I only broke 1) when you rip it out. I am guessing same will happen with the RS5 pedal. So unless you buy replacement dead pedal, probably not revertible.

    1. Gas pedal is placed on top of the stock one. When install, use hair dryer or hot water to heat up the rubber behind.
Get the top slide on first, and left and right, if it is too tight to fit the bottom side, (Mine is too tight to get the bottom side on)
I used knife to cut a edge on rubber at the right lower corner, then all 4 sides are slided on and the pedal is perfectly tight fit.
Do not use flat head screwdriver to try to pray the black rubber on, you might scratch something if you are not paying attention.

2.Brake pedal is to replace the stock rubber one, once you see the new pedal, then you know how to take out the stock one.
Make sure you wear gloves for this, as I cut my finger so bad when I reached the back and tried to removed the stock one.

3.Dead pedals clips at the back will break most likely. (I broke 1 too). I put a lot of master tapes around the kick penal and upper penal below the steering wheel,
just want to make sure no scratches happen during the installation.

How to remove the stock one, follow this http://audienthusiasts.com/ProjectRS4PedalSwap.html, yes, it is pure power move, no skill, be careful do not make any scratch (Master tape works!!)

Here is the trick, do it slowly and gently. I don't need to loosen the kick panel, instead, I used one hand push the floor carpret down,
at the same time I used another hand to pull the kick panel outward and it will stay on top of the carpret. Then I slide the kick panel into that "clip" on the left side of the dead pedal on the kick pedal, pushed the carpret down and also slowly push the kick penal
inward and back to original position. install the clip on top of the dead pedal like stock one, then push hard the dead pedal and make sure the back clips are clipped on.

Were you able to locate the stock dead pedal broken clip underneath the carpret? I couldn't find the broken clip. ><

I found part of it. I think the other piece fell through... Were you able to slide the dead pedal under the panel or just left it as it?

I believe it's an RS6, the R8 GT also has this setup but can be had with no paddles. That's the one (R8 GT) that I'm getting. Going to call Alex next week.

Thanks guys! Will post photos after I install this.

Dasquade: the shifter was less than $200 if I remember correctly. I bought the whole package at once.

Linkseal: not sure what you mean by not matching nappa leather. This is identical to the leather on the S4 OEM wheel. If you're talking about air (perforated) leather, I chose it over smooth leather because it looks much better IMO, plus it matches the new shift knob, but I believe you can get the same wheel without air leather.

Johnny732: It is the RS6 wheel. It is the thickest and fully contoured wheel. Choices A, B & C are the thinner style, so IMO it doesn't make much sense to "upgrade" to those.

As far as pricing, keep in mind that this wheel requires a new airbag, which significantly increases the price, plus I also opted for the plug & play harness and an S4 badge. Alex from Europrice is a really helpful guy and pleasure to do business with. If any of you will be buying the wheel, you will also need a XZN triple square 12mm bit and a T30 torx bit.

I recently purchased a TT S-line flat bottom wheel for my Ibis Ti-Package '08 A4 from Alex. I too was impressed with his customer service. He was very quick to return e-mails and kept me in the loop throughout the shipping process(wheel shipped from Europe). The steering wheel itself is gorgeous, and really adds that "wow" factor to an already sharp looking interior. Post some pics when you get that stuff installed!

Great choices all around! That wheel looks incredible. I recently ordered the TT-S Line flat bottom wheel and am anxious to get it. If you DIY install, I'd love to hear your experience. Please document the process with pics and explanation if you have time.

Oh, BTW... T55 torx bit will also do the same job as the triple square 12mm bit.

If you don't care about flat bottom and only want thicker grips without the added airbag pricetag, check out the RS5 wheel.

It's hard to tell the thickness from a picture, but the RS5 wheel looks identical to ours, except for the air leather. Also, why did you guys go for the TTS wheel? Was it significantly less expensive than the thicker and more contoured RS6 wheel? Anyway, having received all the necessary tools, I will be installing my wheel tomorrow.

ibiski, know you indicated that you'll report after fitting all, but itching to understand (what you yourself understand until doing fit) but w.r.t. Shift Knob, is that a 'plug and play' type fit / 'direct bolt' as you say, or are there modification also expected to be made, per w/S3 knob fitment?

    TIA

    PS,
Also love your shopping list, ...particularly the s'wheel. Sitting on fence w/several potential mods but a little risk averse when it comes to safety critical mods eg shift knob, steering wheel, etc. Maybe failure modes - IF any - are small, considering original OEM parts, but prefer where possible also for original OEM 'fit' - even if different part model / no:-) The RS6 S'Knob seems to be an original fit to S4 from initial impressions?

Love the shift knob. If your fit goes smoothly I will seriously consider this mod. I hate the steering wheel but no where near as much as the shift knob which is the cheapest part of the car. My GTI shifter is a work of art in comparison as my manual TT knob.

As far as I'm concerned, the shift knob does not require any modifications, since mechanically it is identical to OEM S4 knob. Its shape is very similar to the S4 knob. The only difference is the aluminum/air leather combo vs all smooth leather. It should be a direct fit. Steering wheel is also plug and play with the harness from Europrice. I've read the whole S-tronic shift knob thread and frankly I'd be scared to use a lighter to melt and twist an integral part of the shifting mechanism. Plus, to me the RS6 shift knob looks better than S3's.

Thx for clarification - I'm now on board w/you re the RS6 Shift knob, having read some recent comments concerning the S3's (although do like the S3 a little better overall). The RS6 Aluminum trim is small difference but significantly better in appearance and tactile feel i have to believe. S4 stock is just like a lump of molded plastic...arrgh:-(

Finally got a chance to install the wheel today. Here are some photos:

    OEM S4 Wheel

Airbag unscrewed from back and being taken off by detaching the plugs

    Cables detached completely

    No Wheel!

New wheel put on and fastened using XZN 12mm bit with some Locktite

    Final result

The install was super easy and took me about 20 minutes. I also tried to put on the new pedals, but after half an hour of trying, I gave up. Not as easy as it seems. Will probably need to heat them up to soften the rubber and try again.

Me likes a lot. Good job (i guess you forgot to mention you need to unplug the battery before handling the airbag? or you didn't?)
As for the pedals, David? had a good tip for the pedals. Leave them in semi hot/hot water for awhile :) . Might want to do one at a time.
