There are only 2 real/legitimate ways to tune your 1.8T. 1) Chip tuning - APR, Unitronic, Revo, GIAC, etc... 2) Stand alone - which is normally pretty expensive $$$$ and pretty hard to tune. If you are running a stock turbo or stock-ish turbo and exhaust then have your ecu flashed (chip tuning). Stand alone is for Big Turbo guys who put done a lot of horse power.

Ok i know what you are trying to do. That must be done thru a laptop and you have to have a special software and I cannot remember the name but IIRC its like 1,300 bones for it. you'd be better off with a flash because its much safer for the car. I can tell you from experience anything over 8-10 psi on that lil k03/k03s will make it blow so fast. i have gone thru plenty of turbos. what you should do is flash the car with APR or Uni and put an exhaust on and then start saving your money for a BT set up and let Uni write you an ecu. Unless you want to be at the track and tuning on the fly or making adjustments daily its really not worth it, especially on a stock turbo. A guy I know has the highest recorded hp out of a stock k03s on a mk4 gli at 286whp. he had meth, MBC, FMIC, and any other performance bolt on you can think of. it just goes to show that stock turbos suck. our cars werent make to be fast, they were built to be economical. Hell the boost on a k03/k03s/k04 falls of at 5,00-5,500 rpms. my car chipped revs out to 7,200 rpms. BT is the only way to see desirable numbers

No it doesn't cost 1300 dollars i can send you a link to the website if your interested its pretty cool. But it will take a long time and im sure ill go with a professional tune when i go bt but im more interested in learning how to tune myself so why not tune my own car? im not gonna be stupid about it and just start pluggin numbers in i plan on educating myself on it in and out you know?

maestro by tapp. you will still need dyno time which is where the cost of a custom tune comes from.

From a friend. Who first did the preliminary tunning on the k03 back in the day.
I run piggy back systems. AEM tru boost controller to control air, apexi-neo to control fuel and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to allow the tunning of fuel.
Its all logged through an AEM 4 sensory input output device. Being able to view it on a laptop in the car while all being logged on the same map really makes things a lot more simple.

Paid around 900 or so. Mind you, do not forget that I have had many turbos and I never have to buy tunning for each set up.

    Apexi Neo 400
    Adjustable Fuel Preasure Regulator 100
    AEM Tru boost controller 270
Fuel Preasure Regulator Block off Plate 30
    AEM Wideband 180
    AEM 4 Input Device 260

False, you can buy maestro. You can have a full custom tune without even having a chip put into your OEM ECU.
