    Koni coilovers

I am looking at a set of Koni coilovers for $708, brand new. Part number 1150 5019 I was just wondering what everyone thought about them from a daily driver stand point with occasional track/autocross use. I have Vogtland sport springs and originally I'd planned on getting Bilstine sports and the ECS coil conversion but for $200 more then the shocks I could have a full coil over... kinda worth it no? I looked at a few reviews saying they loved the Koni's and some saying they were too soft. So I'm just kinda not sure haha.

The Stasis Streetsports are apparently Koni's that have been adjusted to their specs (externally). They are said to be about 20% stiffer than the stock sport suspension.

I have the Stasis SS, assuming they are they same coilover I like the ride. Its great for DD use, I am 24.5 GTF and hardly ever rub my fender liners. I don't drive my car as much and as hard as I used to so these work out for me when I wanna take the car out on some twistys.

18x8.5" Wheel wrapped in 235/40/18. Those tires look FAT on my car and its nice, but I think im gonna go with 225/40 next. Compared to my H&R PCS (track oriented) coilovers, these things ride like butta.

I run them and they are just a nice height adjustable (I'm at 25.5 gtf) upgrade from the stock sport suspension. Wife approved, so they are a pretty mellow set-up.

Where did you find Konis for $708?? I've got Stasis SS and they are pretty nice. I'm at 25 GTF I think.

The koni's are a bit soft for my taste. But they work.

Got a vid in my sig. Pretty sure the shocks are set to medium.

They let me pull over 1G on the street....

Yes, but as i'm sure you know the softer shock will allow u to pull a miniscule bit more G's then say on PSS9's. They'd be decent for auto-x. However I'd much rather have the stiffer (to a point) shocks when on a road course, especially one with high speed transitions of left to right and such. Unless the OP puts in a nice stiff sway bar like u have his suspension will be even softer. I'm not really a fan of the KONI's for anything more then DD. They are pretty much on par with the stock sport suspension IMHO, which while not stupid soft provide a nice decently firm ride ride for the street. Only thing is the Konis feel better damped then the stock sport suspension.

I agree 100%, go with the KONI's if you are looking at your B5 as a DD.

I love my Koni spots. Going from a super stiff GC setup on my bmw this is a great setup for mainly dding with some track use

I started a thread on my install and impressions. I think they are perfect for a dd. Adding a rear swaybar makes it great.

I should have mentioned I WILL be purchasiing a Neuspeed rear sway at the same time. I have a sport front and have driven one with both and thats not the feel I want so just a rear with better shocks and springs will probably suit my tastes perfectly and still allow auto-x fun.

Sport front, and neuspeed rear w/ koni's is my setup as well. Very nicely matched setup for autox, A little soft for track as noted, but its nothing to throw a stick at.. That combo w/ my APR stage 3, I was following a RS4 and an S4 for most of a road course day, they were both on Stasis suspension...

I've been running Koni Coilover or about 3 years now, they are great for daily driving (non-granny style) and some spirited driving on the back roads. I've been in my friends bmw with KW and its kinda harsh for street use, maybe he likes it that way. When I got my Konis they were setup pretty aggressive and my back did not like it. So I'm running a milder setup which I'm happy with. I happy with the Konis.
