Podi reading overboost(?) on cold start

So this morning my car decided to act up. For the first 5 or so minutes of my commute to work this morning, I noticed that at idle, my boost gauge was reading 5psi. I never boost past 10psi until my car is warmed up, so it really wasn't a big deal to me, but even at what should have been 10psi, my gauge was reading almost a full 30psi.

Ten minutes later I noticed my gauge was reading 0psi at idle. By this point my car was almost warmed up, but I still didn't get on it.

After 5 minutes of this, I noticed I was finally in vacuum when at idle, this time at 10mmHg. Usually I'm all the way down at 20-30mmHg.

By the time I got to work(~45 minute commute), the gauge was working properly.. Boosting to ~20psi, reading ~25mmHg when I wasn't on the gas.

Is this common? The car was running fine, no vibrations or noises. I also always let my car run for about 5 minutes before I even move it so it wasn't like I just got in it and went.

Also for what it's worth I'm running Podi Electronic Stepper Motor Gauge, Revo Stage 1, 710N, and N249 bypass. At this point I'm not concerned but I figured I'd bring it up and see if anyone had any ideas.

Was the car actually running like shit? If not, then the boost gauge/sender is probably faulty.

nope, the car was running great. This has happened once or twice before but I figured it was due to the cold weather. I'll continue to monitor the gauge and contact Greg if I have any more problems.

Yeah, I've been having the exact same problem off an on for the past couple weeks... My gauge starts its sweep and then hiccups around the 15 psi mark, and sets its 0 reading at like 20psi. The gauge then works somewhat, but everything's is 20 psi higher, ie idles at 1psi, etc.

I believe I have the same gauge as you. When did you get your gauge? I wonder if we got a bad batch, I got mine mid July of this year.

I'm going to be sending Greg a message as well to see if he can help.

**edit, I guess I didn't see this post is a couple months old, did you sort your problem out yet?

Does the gauge read 0 when the engines off, ignition on?

The boost sender is very sensitive to bad grounds so I would suggest checking your connections first.

If they all look solid then it is possible that the sender is having issues and we will replace it with a new one.
