    Question Adding new stereo

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am looking at adding a new stereo to my 06 A4 and read on crutchfield I need an integration adapter PAC C2R-audi to power the speaker with the amp. I do not want the speakers powered through the amp, the drivers side rear speaker will not work with the amp so I would rather it all powered through the deck. My question is do I need this part for any other reason. I would prefer not to buy it if not, as it costs around $100. I am looking at adding the Clarion VX-400. Any help would be appreciated.

Believe the part gives u an accessory output...instead of tapping accessory @ steering column..gives u other trigger wires as well but for that price I'd just recommend a connects2 harness from enfig. And u can keep SWControls.

you should not need that adapter, but you will have to run new wiring to the rear doors if you want to bypass the amp. I also do not remember seeing a Clarion adapter for the connects 2.

I thought the wiring harnesses were universal for aftermarket radios. I have been looking through them and they don't ever mention working with only certain brands. Also do you know if there is a post that explains how to run the wires for the rear speakers?

Go to the car audio forum and search. There are a plethora of threads that can explain everything you need to know. If you ask me, you're going about this entirely the wrong way. Go do some research on Connects2 adapters. You're not going to have enough speaker leads coming off the deck to run all the speakers in your car. They're all taken up just wiring the front components.

The connects 2 harness needs an adapter for the specific brand of stereo to connect the steering wheel controls. The harness itself is universal, but I guess each company uses a different type of connection or coding for the steering wheel.

I hard wired, ran my own retained acc and used Axxess ASWC for my steering wheel controls. not going to lie the molex plugs made me want to burn the car and shoot myself in the head... x2
