    Spark plug help

    Okay, I got a GIAC stage one chip and new DV for my '98 A4 1.8TQM. Now I need help with spark plugs. What's everyones opinions? Also, how do I gap them to .028" and do I have to torque them down? If anyone has choice websites, please share. Thanks everyone!

    I usually used ngk bkr6e/bkr7e @ .028 but I recently installed some bosch F6DTC plugs and so far I'm liking them. I'm seeing a ~2-3mpg increase.

    Get a plug gap-er are auto zone or advance. Get the good one too not the cheap $0.99 one. I run NGK laser series platinums and i love them but they are also $13 a plug. there is no need to torque them, just snug them. this is what you need

    How much were those plugs and where did you get them? do you have any issues with them?

    I'm going with the F6DTC plugs for sure for lack of maitenance because i'm so busy. Where did you get yours from? does anyone else have these and have an opinion on them?

    yeah use a gapper tool. Or get one of em silver discs be nice to them tho.. Plugs come stock at something crazy like .50 took me a bit to get em just right.

    I am also using the NGK BRK6E's and they only cost around $2.50 each so I can afford to change them every other oil change if need be (every 10000km). Bentley says to torque the plugs to 22 ft-lbs. http://www.bentleypublishers.com/tec...gs.replace.htm. I had mine gapped at .032 before I had an APR flash in July. After I got the flash and didn't regap, I got hesitation at higher RPMs so this past weekend I finally gapped them to .028 and wow what a difference!!! I didn't believe there was a difference until I did it.

    Iridium or Platinum, my Iridium IX run very strong. Noticed a improvement over Copper.

    do not gap your plugs with those! It is so bad for the electrode. Just pay the extra dollar or 2 and get the correct tool

    Anyone try running the newish E3's? 3 prong no need to gap plug?

    My friend uses them on his V8 allroad and he had no complaints. I want to see them on a boosted application tho because there is a lot more manifold pressure compared to N/A
