AEM Wide Band + Podi - Wiring schematics.

    Hey guys,

I finally got my Podi single with VEI, and have started to wire her up. I'm curious if anyone of you have used the AEM Sender (0-5v analog) with the VEI gauge. I have the wiring down, but it only seems to read what every my Yb axis of 20.0

Is there anyone who has used the AEM uego sender with the VEI gauge. If so, talk to me. :)

I'm using the innovative sender with a VEI gauge, so not sure how close they are. But do you need to do a open air calibration? And is the gauge set to the same voltage? You have to hold down the settings button on the gauge for 5 seconds and keep holding it down while you turn on your car to access those menu settings, I had to change mine. Just be careful the gauge goes from 0.0 to 99 and if you go to far say 20.1 and you hit 20.2 you have to cycle all the way through it... no back button. Get what the senders setting is suppose to be and check to make sure the gauge is set the same.

    Thanks Tyler,

I stopped trying and gave up last night. I think it's not reading the voltages right, and I am not sure what I should have it set too. YA - 10.0 and YB is 20.0
Range is set to 99.9 and 4 for speed.

I would find what your sender is set to for YA and YB, if the gauge is not set to the same it will not read correctly. 99.9 is correct, that just tells it where the decimal sits an speed 4 is fine but I like mine higher so it just snaps back... thats personal preference.

Also make sure your sender is connected as wideband, my innovative has two possible signal wires (brown and yellow), the first time I hooked it up I had it connected to yellow and it was giving me a narrowband reading, switched it to the brown connection and all was good. Again I've never used the AEM sender, so I have no idea how that applies to you.

The thing is it's not even reading at all. All it does is sit at 10.00.

Is my axis that off it wont even read anything?

I want to go home and get my podi mounted and work. Grr.

You can contact VEI at [email protected] and see if they have tested the gauge setup with the AEM sender and can provide you with wiring information.

According to this I should have the calibration set correctly. It also says the 0-5v output is the white wire, which I have it connected too. I will try the other wires grey and brown just to be sure.

After reading the pdf your setup is configured correctly.

I would put a DVM on the white wire to see what voltage it is outputting and compare it to the AFR lookup table to see what it should be displaying.

Going to go buy a new digitial multimeter after work. It seems like the actual wideband isnt sending a signal to my wideband VEI but only too my AEM gauge.

Just out of curiosity, why did you go with the AEM over the Innovative that podi sells with the gauge that is proven and tested to work? Not giving you crap or anything, just curious.

I had no plans on going with a podi. I got a good deal on my AEM 6 months ago during my build.

I just tested the white wire and it gives me 0.00. Thus something is fucked.

Check to see if the AEM has any mode to switch that output wire on/off.

Just to verify ** you did check the wire with the car running, correct?
