    Adding Euro Push Button Start??

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Has anyone successfully added the European Push Button Start to a North America Spec RS4??

OEMPlus has said they can get the parts, but aren't sure about the wiring or VAG-COM Coding. Anyone have some thoughts on it??

Yeah I've got a thought. It's unnecessary since you still have to turn the key anyway. Not worth the time, effort or money just to add another step to starting your car.

But the links above seem to tell you everything you need to know.

Huge pass. Why add another step to start the car?

I have had one or two customers do this to full completion.

It required quite a list of parts just beyond the switch and I do still have the wiring information handy for purchasers. The conversion is generally useful if you want to go full EU spec on the interior, which is the only reason I'd see it be worth doing, even though it is a nice little trick piece to have.

If you are genuinely interested I can help, PM or email: [email protected]

I would be more interested in proximity start like my brother's Toyota Camry. If I have the key and get close enough, the doors unlock and I can remote start with a button. When I get in, as long as the key is in my pocket, the car continues to run and I can drive away.

Had that on my 08 A5. It was, I think, one of the best features fitted to an automobile. It was as easy as walking up to the car, open the door, press clutch, push start, drive off. To retro-fit though I think would be horribly cost prohibitive.

still having to turn the key makes it pointless. i had keyless entry and start on my 08 v8 touareg. was the best thing. key never left my pocket. touch the handle and the door unlocks. sit inside step on the brake and hit the button. if it was like that then i would do it in a heartbeat. if not its a total waste

Question: What happens of you get in the car, put the key in the ignition and turn it as if your starting it? Will the car still start?

Depending on how you wire the system you can maintain having the key work to start the car as well as the push button or just the push button.

On the Q7's the key just has to be in the car...thats not the case with these? If you have to turn the key anyways then yes..waste of money and time.

same with the new s4's. from all that ive read, the actual euro cars you cant turn the key more than the accessory setting meaning you HAVE to go thru the process every time
