It only makes the sound when you let off the gas, in which case there is no power to be lost since youre not on the throttle. I can only see that during shifts, you would get a slight air pressure drop as a portion of the air is vented, but I highly doubt this would even register on a dyno let alone in the seat-of-the-pants test. Other than that it functions exactly as a diverter valve does.
true^ i guess I was more or less stating the "myth" of the splitters- my friend is happy with his- he doesn't care about performance, he was going for sound. And that he got!
honestly after hearing his set up, I wouldn't mind a little more whoosh sometimes-
but my s-flo gave a little sound so I'm good
