    up for debate...2dvs or 1 blowoff and 1 dv....

    i will be posting this on the s4 model line too...but based on another thread that this was mentioned and someone brought up....since we have 2 dv's...has anyone heard or done 1 blowoff valve and 1 dv instead of 2 dv's....good or no good? can anyone add any info on this?

    you can only advance/retard the timing so much to correct that, i don't know enough about it though to tell whether it would cause any actual problems

    i mean, running rich is a much safer way to run a higher hp car, just in case you run into cold weather or something and you overboost you wont lean out and pop the motor, but >300 hp you probably have nothing to worry about anyway.

    really isn't any point trying this imo.... our cars are not built for it


    on the other hand the closest thing to a BOV are the Forge splitters that sound like whooosh whoosh
    but the louder they sound the more power you lose :(

    hell, I wouldn't even put hybrids(forge splitter) on mine.

    If "whooosh" is what you want to hear, change your stock air filter to S-flo or something.

    I spoke with someone at forge motorsports a few months ago and they actually mentioned the concept. Or at least to the extent of running either 2 "splitter" valves with one in hybrid mode and the other in dv mode. I can't remember exactly how it came up in the conversation, but the point is that it doesn't matter how much air is coming from each turbo as long as there is enough air as to not upset the maf.

    animals on the other side. That guy got his panties in a bunch over you having the dope sticker. I had a B6 friend who had a dope emblem for his trunk rings. Dont recall him getting burned at teh cross for having it. those a4 guys are animals.

    It only makes the sound when you let off the gas, in which case there is no power to be lost since youre not on the throttle. I can only see that during shifts, you would get a slight air pressure drop as a portion of the air is vented, but I highly doubt this would even register on a dyno let alone in the seat-of-the-pants test. Other than that it functions exactly as a diverter valve does.

    true^ i guess I was more or less stating the "myth" of the splitters- my friend is happy with his- he doesn't care about performance, he was going for sound. And that he got!

    honestly after hearing his set up, I wouldn't mind a little more whoosh sometimes-

    but my s-flo gave a little sound so I'm good

    ricer or not I like that whoosh sound and it feels good beating civics and sti's I don't kno bout u guys but I go to street meets and ur shit got to be on point .. I seen one time this guy said if we could have a bov it would have came stock but that's not true 90% of cars with stock turbos have d/v's and I believe it's more of an emissions thing than anything else .... One quick question sti's come stock with d/v's aswell but they always put bov'S in there car?????

    i do believe every stock turbo'd car comes with a dv from the factory and about 98% of them put BOV's on them...jus the nature of the beast...to each his own ya kno...
