    Trunk pop auto open piston / shock upgrade?

    Does anyone know of a shock, spring, piston, or combination of the three that I can get to make my trunk open all the way up when piped like the new Audi's and VW's?

    The new A4 does it because the hinge mechanism is completely different than the one in our cars. If you look at hose the gas-springs are situated in our trunks i really doubt you could make it have enough force to pop the trunk open without breaking something

    funny you say that cause I glanced at an 07 jetta and the placement of everything looks pertty much the same. I think if we just had a stronger strut it would work but I have no idea where to get stronger trunk struts

    i just took a look at a jetta that's sitting around at my job and it is similar/or exactly the same except they have a spring attached to the lifting mechanism
