A3 facelift fuel pump fail symptom

I have a 2009 A3 2.0T Quattro and just recently replaced my fuel pump
Everything was covered under warranty but just a heads up to you guys how they figured it was the fuel pump.

Quick(but long) timeline of how everything happened...

2009 Apr - took delivery of car

2009 Nov - first oil change (b4 that the car was kept under 4000rpm)
    - after oil change I of course had to break in the car properly
    - i was using the manual shift with the dsg 2nd gear
accelerating hard exiting the u-shaped turn while in 2nd gear
car hit 60kms... roughly 5500rpm (somewher around ther)
car suddenly jerked (like a fuel cut)
    - very pissed off... so went to try it again the nxt day
this time with ESP off (totally off, not just asr off)
    same thing happened
puzzled so read the manual... sth about the quattro only works up to 60km/hr
thought it was some electronic thing preventing me from drifting out the corner
more pissed off but lived with it... i guess my drifting days were over... (started to miss my miata)

    2010 Sept
    - took my frd's car in for service, talked to a very knowledgeable sales guy @ Capilano Audi (honestly the first car salesman i talked to that knows his cars)
    - was looking at the 30th quattro edition a4 (very nice car)
    - came across the topic of my car jerking when he asked if i liked my a3
    - he told me to bring it in so the foreman can do a test drive with me
    - thought about it, but too lazy and didnt do it... (my bad)

    2010 Oct
    - started car in the morning and there was this rumble and sounded like it was gonna die
engine light was flashing as well
    - turned off car, started again... everything was fine...
    - drive out... there was a merge lane... it was a ML350 so decided to pass him
    - hard acceleration in D ... car jerked again when it hit 60kms/hr ... jerked 2 times actually
    - started to think to myself I should get it checked out
    - the nxt day, shop foreman went for a test drive with me, and LUCKILY the car replicated the problem
    - he knew it was the fuel pump right away cuz it happened to another a3 (also a white one)
    - got everything fixed the week after and everything is good!

Big thanks to the very knowledgeable sales guy (didnt catch his name), and shop foreman Joe!
Overall very pleased with Cap Audi

And, should have bought a black one...
