    Possible RS4...

Hey guys! Been reading a lot of the posts on this side, preparing for what may come in the future. I currently drive a C5 A6, but since I am soon entering the medical world, I plan on purchasing a RS4 (fingers crossed)! So what I am trying to get to is, i know CB is unavoidable and I am prepared for this, but how much on average do you think cleaning costs? Planning to move to Albany, NY, so i will most likely purchase one from around that part of the country, and am wondering how much a local Indy shop would charge for this??? Any input at all is much appreciated

My input would be: don't leave Cleveland you fool!

Plus Galati's is the only indy you need.

Albany is about a half hour away from me man. Cool that your moving a lil farther east. There should be a bunch of indy shops in ny but I'm unsure about the cleaning procedure. When you do end up moving over this way hit me up for a meet and greet.

plan on cleaning about every 20k miles... indy's charge $700-800, dealer starts at $1200 and could be as high as $1800.

I figure go big or go home: Ibis white!!!! Too bad there are only like 3.57 in all of the US and no one wants to sell lol. There is one in florida right now, with no nav tho.....

Bender i didn't even realize this was you the first time i read it lol! And no, unfortunately Cleveland has no heart for me and I have to leave .... As far as Galati's goes no thanks, they have already tried to forcefully insert themselves into my rectum over something much simpler than a CBU cleaning!

RNS-E is an easy swap, and a poor excuse not to buy an insanely low-mileage ibis...

Really?? What did you go to them about. They have never been anything but VERY friendly and really fair priced when I have gone. Especially for the timing belt on the a4. Plus Galati was an Audi team racer ffs!

dont get your hopes up, but it shouldnt deter you... if you're interested in this car just consider it part of maintenance. if you are worried about issues and things of this nature then you will probably be better off going with a b8 s4, it will have mod potential and have warranty and be covered under warranty if you do stasis through the dealer... (although i am uncertain as to how comprehensive the warranty would be but i wager it will be similar to dinan's and what they have done over the years.)

I'm a bigger fan of the B7 platform, its all around awesome IMO. As far as the cleaning goes I am ready to deal with it and like you said, I will just incorporate it as maintenance.

Koolade9... your RS4 is THE TITS!!!! it is everything I would ever aspire for from my car and more... thank you for such an inspirational beauty.

glad to read that, another option would be a b7 s4 where you avoid the CB issue but you will need a substantial amount of mods/cash to beef it up and make as fun as the rs4.

I do like mugello on the RS tho.... Prob would have been one of my other choices if I didn't score the DG.

I am also considering a B7 RS4 soon. (I had my eyes on that nav-less Ibis as well).

Is the KMD catch can kit effective in preventing the carbon buildup? I am referring to this: http://kmdtuning.com/index.php?_a=vi...productId=1989

I really want an RS4, but I'm not too crazy about having to spend $1k+ every 20k miles. I suppose it's not THAT bad, but it's a P I T A to be without a car that you drive daily.
