    Best Halogen Headlights to Purchase?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I'm looking for bulbs that will provide an HID look but not look ricey at the same time. Anyone have any luck with this? Matching turn signals would be amazing as well. If anyone can post pics or links to their setup I would be very very thankful :)

    Best,
    Alex

Go OEM or you will regret it, just search any of the thousand posts. I went with Blesk capacitors upgraded with Philipis bulbs. They were out of 5000K (oem super white) so I got 6000K which actually looks great, not blue/purple at all. You can't just put in bulbs alone you will have to buy a kit: http://hidconcept.com/homepage.html

As far as turn signals go, i got these: http://www.energyspeed.com/servlet/t...dicator/Detail
Although I have not had time yet to take my headlights out so I haven't installed them yet.

If you need to now what size bulbs you need, use this chart: http://www.energyspeed.com/servlet/t...AudiBulbs/Page

Good luck, its well worth the money and are a breeze to install.

What you'll find in the link below look decent in terms of temp like color, but you will lose visibility, pretty much with any option as the hue lessens output.

Above is halogen bulb options only, don't go HID in halogens though, at least I wouldn't advise it.

I'm curious to know if those indicator LEDs throw a code once they're installed.

I'm not actually looking for an HID kit, just bulbs to make things easy. What size are our bulbs? THe Hoen's look very nice.

Was thinking if they made orange LED turn signals that would be pretty sick as well. I got a feeling that would be pretty hard to find. Just worried with a lot of LEDS in the headlights it starts to look like a ricey spaceship :(

Actually that was something I was afraid of also, but after installation/ running for 10 mins they looked GREAT! I have had them for about a month now, and they are just absolutely awesome. I would def recommend the Philips upgrade to anyone who is thinking of doing this mod.

I must say however that I am running a 35W kit for my fogs and they are a little on the brighter side, although I would blame this on the lack of any type of projector housing in the fogs. i'll try to take some pics when I get home tonight.

I haven't found one for our bulb size yet although I do know that such products exist:

Wow, thanks! I am a bit worried that they wont fit however. The correct size is 7506LL for the turn signals which doesnt look like they will.

I need to learn more about the Phillips upgrade and cant wait to see pics ! ! !

^^ I forget if my blinker is 1156 or 1157, but it fit fine into
the OEM headlights/depo headlights. Once I got my dectanes
I had to make them fit, but it was easy enough. A LED turn
signal will make your blinkers flash faster than normal as if a
bulb is out, and if you have the color display, it may show a
bulb warning. To fix this, all you need is a resistor for each
bulb (5 ohm I think). You can definitely make the LED turn signal
work if you want. Here are my my headlights for reference:

I'm sure plenty of people will agree with the fact that it looks like
a ricey spaceship, but I love how it looks and that is what matters!
I'd like to see what the orange ones look like.

^ I love your headlights with a fiery passion of a 1000 suns. Would rather have Fly's LED's, but those do look really good. Let us know what you go with and post some pics when you get them =D

I actually like the look as well. I would just prefer closer to stock to maintain a clean OEM look.

Okay so i took some pics for reference. I am running a Philips 6000K for heads and 5000K for fogs (they didnt have the 5000k for heads when i ordered - 5 week backorder!!!!) Sorry in advance for iPhone pics.

So this is heads only - just the ever so slightest tinge of blue, nothing "ricey" though:

heads and fogs - much brighter and crisper white:

    Hope this helped! Cheers

Looks really good man. So for the heads, you just used Phillips converted to HID bulbs with the same housings and a kufatec wiring harness? Basically your converting HID bulbs in a Halogen housing?

    Thank you!

Yes and no. It is not only a bulb swap, it is a complete wiring harness switch. The kits come with everything you will need, it is verrrrry simple, trust me. There is the ever so minimal wiring work (basic crimping, heat shrink, rewiring) but all in all it is a plug and play deal. If you buy from the link i provided they are OEM compatible, so you don't have to do anything the bulb housing, whereas i have read about other ppl having to dremel the metal to make the bulbs fit (yikes!!) when buying from some other (cheaper) companies. So save yourself the pain and and go with Philips/Blesk.

I didn't have to remove the headlight either, did it all bolted in. Although on the passenger's side the intake gets in the way, making it cramped, so i just removed the intake and then refit it after my swap. Good luck!
