    weird problem

i was just driving and i just pushed the car a little bit from the lights making a left turn, i was probably hitting about 3-4,000 rpm's, and i looked in my rear view mirror there was a cloud of whitish/blackish smoke coming out of the exhaust, and the car was hesitant to move and was jerking when i was making another left turn, i also installed the 034 motorsport inlet hose and i found oil in the compartment where you put the hose on top, it was inside it and also my oem inlet hose had loads of oil in it! no engine light came on and my oil level was still at its proper level. any ideas? thanks.

oil that helps cool the turbo on the spindle may have a broken seal which could have let oil into your intake system....im guessing that if enough oil was hitting the turbine and in effect spinning oil into your intake then you prolly have oil in your smic's, manifold, combustion chambers, which gets burned cuasing the white smoke to appear in the exhaust

bottom line, get your car into service now.....dont limp it in thier....tow it....stop driving it because something seriously wrong is going on with your car

sorry to give the bad news

the car is stock, just has a awe quad tip exhaust, and evom intakes along with 034 motorsport inlet hose! I got audi to check it before too because I apparently had a bad coil pack, but they said nothing was wrong! I've just been topping off the oil everytime it goes low! but getting sick of it!

it used to happen before as well, and i couldn't find the source of the problem. the car was fully warmed up and i was driving it before and it was running smoothly, just out of no where it started acting up, blowing out a huge cloud of smoke and jerking.

sounds like a few different things, dont necessarily worry about the oil, post pics. small amounts of oil can be normal. also burning oil is usually a bluish tint. dark clouds are fuel.

i would guess coilpacks again, since it is white and black smoke, that means fuel is burning..and jerking is usually caused by a misfire..

check your coilpack for the latest F revision, if not then go bitch at your dealer for not putting them in last time, if they are F..get it towed to your dealer and have them run codes and fix the problem

    thats not a misfire....misfires give codes #1
#2 seeing smoke with hesitation give me the inclination of a boost leak

the way the car jerked was really weird, i pushed the gas down and the car was hesitant to move, but it eventually moved and started driving.

thats probably not a boost leak if the car jerked pretty hard, are you automatic?

Wrong son, boost leaks can do all kinds of things
ok biztrick, if he has a compressor, and you have courage do the following...
get a boost gauge on the car, the capped off fitting on the back of the intake mani is a perfect spot, search for a dyi
then pressurize the system to 10-15 psi with an air compressor doing the following
find a pvc cap from lowes than can fit inside your hose AFTER the turbo, where oyu can bandclamp it in
then drill it in the center, and put a valve stem in.
slow bleeding of pressure is normal, as it bleeds out of the crankcase, but if you hear a hisss which if there is a leak it will....bingo!
or pay 80 bucks for a smoke test

hes not....96k km is like 60+ k mi....learn how to do it now, the older they get, the more dyi is the only affordable option

    thats what i said

when your car jerks back and forth, it is usually a vacuum leak, if he was at 3k-4k, there would just be no power if he was leaking boost

youre wrong....vacuum leaks are not usually evident under boost, its called a check valve...
youre talking to someone who to date has had 5 different boost leaks, all with different characterisitcs according to place/ size
vacuum leaks cause bad idle more often than not
clearly that college education of yours hasnt taught you HOW to think yet

lol, learn to read asshat, i said when your car jerks back and forth, it is usually a vacuum leak, he was at 3-4k so that wouldnt affect him, but boost leak wouldnt jerk his car around

thanks though, and to think i lived in raleigh LOL

if youre competent, create a leak tester, ive made mine invaluable
if youre not too sure, go to an aftermarket audi/vw specialist, one with a solid reputation.
if you could get a gauge in and post a video, that would be helpful

sounds good, shall attempt that method and see how it goes, is there a diy on how to create this valve check ? the car is also under warranty i could probably set up an appointment and have them check it. but its through a third party company not directly with audi.

yeah start with whats free! idk if there is a b7 dyi, but search for a b5 tennis ball method, and if youre mechanically inclined adapt it, but dont do it without a gauge, if you over pressurize you will blow some #@%! holes or worse

yeah even something low like 10 pounds should be pressure enough to create a hiss if there is leak
