Yes I know I probably could've got better performance from a set of coilovers, but this car is first and foremost a daily driver and with this understanding I feel that the spring shock has fulfilled everything I want out of it and is perfect for what it is used for. Maybe I just got lucky, but there are no regrets from me going with a spring/shock combo and saving a bit of coin.

EDIT: To the OP. Yes, I noticed a significant difference going from sport suspension to the Koni FSD/ Eibach Pro combo.
I agree with A4A4A4...well said. I'm running Eibachs as well, but with Bilsteins, and have been 100% happy with them.
Having been through numerous coilover and spring/shock combinations with my previous cars (350Z, A3 S-Line, STI, and E36 M3), being able to set it and forget it with a good spring/shock combo is really nice, especially if it meets all of your needs.
If you're absolutely sure that you're suspension setup is going to change with mods, then the flexibility of coilovers is a no-brainer...but it doesn't sound like that's your situation.
