DDM tuning 55w HID kit problems. Looking for some insight if possible.

Hi guys, I am having an intermittent problem with my HID kit from DDM. I have the 35w 3k kit in the fogs that work great and the 55w 6K kit on the low beams. The problem I am having on the headlights is that they will intermittently fire up. sometime I have to turn the lights on and off 3-4 times for both lights to fire up. has anyone else run into this and can possibly shed some light on the problem? I have them installed correctly with harnesses and clean connections.

DDM is saying on their support page to wire them to the batter but that seems a bit excessive as I feel they should be working fine with a good ground and power signal

Had the same issue, it was the ballasts.

I take it DDM replaced them at no charge then?

You have to send in your old ballasts. I just bought new ones because I'm lazy and didn't want to go without headlights.

They want me to pick up a harness kit before sending the ballasts in. Supposedly the 55w kit might be too much for the small gauge wiring running to the factory ballasts. I figure I would humor them and see if if it fixes it. It is a random problem so I guess in theory they could be right. We will see.

On that topic I was curious if anyone has done this and if so did they need the BOW indicator harness to keep the bulb out warning from popping up after installing the HID harness kit?

I also have the DDM 55w/6k lights with igniting issues only on one side. This is also a second set of lights doing the same problem after a month of use.. For me to get them to power up 100% of the time I put the ignition key to acc, turn on the lights and wait for them to warm up and then start the car which works every time. Seems to me that with the engine running there is too much of a draw for the lights to get full power to ignite the ballasts. Give it a shot
