First let me say I have a currently stock 01 C5 A6 2.7t with a manual tranny. I've had her for about a month now. I had noticed the power of the car seemed stronger at times more than others. I got my boost gauge hooked up a few days ago and started noticing something weird.

When I accelerate full throttle from First gear, it boosts to about 8-9psi. I change to second and keep it at full throttle and it will stay at 8-9psi through the other gears. HOWEVER...if i am cruising down the road and i down shift to second or third, it will only boost to 5psi.

My experiend with VW and Audi automatically tell me this is in Limp, but as soon as I switch back to first gear I have full boost again. Any other car I've had that went into limp mode stayed in limp mode until I turned the car off and back on.

My question is, is this normal for the 2.7t when it's stock?
