    1.8t oxygen sensor Heater issue?

Just got me a VAD setup and i hooked it up to my car and logged block 32 and according to what I'm seeing the heater for the front oxygen is rapid fire turning on and off. Tried searching and cant find anything. I can presume it is the sensor acting up but i was curious if anyone knows if our cars have an o2 sensor heater relay that could also be causing such an issue.. No Cels or any other lights, only real issue I have with the car is I'm getting crappy gas mileage. I'm currently getting around 19-20mpg with relatively even amount of highway and around town.

The heaters in the O2 sensor don't stay on continuously. They are controlled by a duty cycle that can oscillate up to 10 times per second, depending upon the surrounding temperature versus the requested temperature. Temperature is measured by resistance in the heater.

I understand how they work and that they need to be at a certain temp to work properly but as far as I'm experienced they shouldn't constantly switch on and off rapid fire under every load condition.

I think you will find it to be the exception to have the heater stay on for a long cycle rather than operating on a fairly short duty cycle.
