I have a 2008 a4 with the audi symphony, no bose or nav.

I'm putting in a new headunit and I need to bypass the stock amplifier. I know the best way is to just run new wires from the HU to the speakers, but would it be possible to just cut and splice the input and output wires of the stock amplifier together, essentially removing the amp from the circuit and sending the signal from the headunit directly to the speakers via the factory wiring?
