You peaked my interest with the 440hp allroad build thread. I stuck around for the laughs, love the narration. This thread has epic win written all over it! You deserve a bump from One ring to Two rings just for this thread.

And the little crappy rubber gaskets that wrap around the headlight and protect the fender/hood paint had disintegrated, with no luck from the dealers with getting replacements.

FYI the part number for those are: 4B0 941 192 Pass side
    4B0 941 191 driver side

    Awesome thread!

This is literally the same anti-scratch anti-UV coating that optometrists put on polycarbonate eyeglass lenses. All you need is to mix up a batch, put it in a pan, heat it up to near boiling, and just set your headlight in it for 20 minutes. It acts as a "dye" that leaches into the polycarbonate matrix itself. Just be sure to support the headlight assembly so the lens isn't resting directly on the bottom of the pan you are using.

You can order this stuff online for about $50.

How exactly do you plan to dye your lens? I like to do the same but I can't figure out how to dye the complete lens all at one time since it curved. I figure I can hang the whole assemble above the pan but only the center (or a portion) of the lens would come in contact with the solution. Unless you can dye it in sections. Does it go on like some sort of clear coat paint? If that is the case, then if you do it in sections, you'll be able to see noticeable layers. If/when you do it. Post pics please! Thx.

Good luck with the hotchkis... but I believe that items like that are always shipped from manufacturer when one puts and order in so I doubt anybody has these actually sitting in some warehouse waiting to ship.

Well, at least it is not some part you cannot continue without... you can always swap them in at later date.

Nice build and great thread. Your humor is right on point. The allroad is a great sleeper car to build. I personally have a '01 stage 3-, rockin 3 car seats. Unitronics beta tune for now, waiting to complete the fueling, have the 044 pump and 42lbs injectors. AMS in Linden did the build and piggie pipes. Went with the OZ Canyon wheels along with the 01e 6 speed swap.

For your rear BBK I found this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Seat-Leon-Cupr...item45f6849a40

Found this thread with this set up

here's the parts that i went with instead...
    1) 300mm rear cross-drilled B7 S4 rotors (cheaper than JHM)
    2) 4 piston rear brembo calipers from 993 porsche 911.
    3) custom-made bracket
    4) stainless lines

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...bbk-for-c5-4.2

The ebay.de has some rear bracketts also. Looking forward to the finished product.

If the rubbing is slight, considering the size and thickness of the bracket, I would take a mikita ginder and a carborundum disk and grind dome metal off. An 1/8 to 3/16 of metal will not make any difference in the strength of that bracket.

This is good stuff. I'm impressed by your ability to "Frankenstein" stuff together to save some money whilst also shelling out somewhere north of 10k for all of this (I can't be too far off on that).
Very resourceful. It seems like most people just throw money at their cars, well done.

As for a name... hmmmm could it be Frank? What color is it? Anything close to gray and I'd lean towards The Falcon for obvious reasons.
It's not a station wagon, it's an Avant.
