Anybody actually successfully get a "custom" downpipe?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've done some searching and I saw posts that people had plans to get a downpipe custom made and stuff but there have been no updates whether or not it was actually done.

I have a tiptronic and as far as i know the option is the Labree. ~300 i think it is?

just wondering if anybody went the custom route at a muffler shop and how much it cost? I'm highly considering it to have a no restriction system.

I have a custom DP. Guy hacked off the flange from my cat, cleaned it up, then welded it to 3" SS tubing and worked his way back. Took about 2 hours. So, labor, plus parts...maybe $150-200. I got a whole exhaust, so I'm not sure how much he would have charged me for the DP alone.

Looks like I slightly misunderstood. I thought this was about a Test Pipe, not a Down Pipe. However, I'd assume the same process could be used. Probably take less time cause the DP is more accessible under the car. No need to lower and raise the car during mock up.

I'm thinking of going with the 3" High Flow cat pipe from H2Sport.

x3 Loved my RAI HFC with the stock exhaust! Deeper note and decent gains even with the HFC. Definitely helped the lag (between the turbo and the tranny). Felt like driving a nice V6.
