Just Replaced Fuel Filter and now hearing something strange

It sounds like a hissing/flowing sound. Haha I know fuel flows though it. But sounds quite loud and I dont remember it doing it before. No leaks or anything just the strange sound. What you guys think? Thanks.

Double-check your connections. Are you positive it isn't leaking?

I guess if it was really really clogged before you might be hearing the "normal" operation sound. But that seems like a stretch.

Yeah I double checked the connections and no leaking. Went for a little ride and everything seems fine. Still hearing the noise but it seems a little better now. No more priming sound at startup so I'm happy for now until the next issue. Thanks.

How often should the fuel filters be replaced on our cars? I have a B7 S4.

Technically it's lifetime, so that means "if it fails or causes problems". Many people do it at 50k or 75k.

I'm thinking you probably got some noise because there was air entrained in the filter itself when you connected it. The more you drive, the more the fuel pump and the intense eddy currents of fuel will wash those bubbles out. So what you were hearing was not so much the flow, but the cavitation, which is a very noisy fluid phenomenon by comparison.

    This.

I did my fuel filter today too and I heard the same noise for a few seconds after start up.
